Keep in mind, the ringlight was initially made for shooting intra-oral photos (inside the mouth).
Used on the lens, you get a very flat light showing little depth.
You'll most likely get better results with off-camera flash(es) and a softbox.
Post an example of what you're getting so we can better help you solve the issue you are having.

Thanks for the info.

I mostly shoot live specimens in the field and cannot use a Stationary flash set-up for that.

For stationary specimens I use a ring flash made for microscopes with a DYI adapter and shoot using a Tripod.

Check out my Flickr page for photos.

I Want to try a ring-light flash. My 6x8 inch diffuser on an SB-900 creates too much direct reflection and results in hot spots in the image.

Used primarily for Macro.

I am using a Nikon D500

I am looking at the Sigma EM-140 DG.

Any comments by users appreciated.

Saw this plant hopper and thought at first it was small moth. Did not get a good picture in the field so captured it and took some magnified views. Turned out it was a plant hopper of family Derbidae. Paramysidia mississippienis.

First picture top view of front wings. Second picture view the head from below showing the antenna insertion below the eyes and a short terminal segment of the beak.

Both are stacks taken with a Nikon 200 mm f4 lens with a Raynox DCR-250 conversion lens.

The grid has one millimeter spacing.

Thanks to all for the helpful answers

I downloaded Chrome and that fixed the problem.

Funny thing happened. After I downloaded Chrome and used it I tried Explorer again
and it worked!

Either something was downloaded with Chrome that fixed it or Flicker modified their webpage.

I have windows 7 Home Premium with Explorer 11 browser. On flickr the last few days I have not been able to access my albums also all of the stats info does not show up. In addition clicking on my photostream images does not lead the detailed info page.

I know Flickr is making changes and I wonder if it is a compatibility problem with my operating system or browser.

If so would a Google Chrome browser fix this or do I need windows 10 for correct operation?

Or, is it a Flickr problem?

The last one on a Dandelion I thought to be a Bee when I first saw it. I t would take a head dive into the flower then back out and do it again. Somewhat smaller than a Honey bee.

It is a lizard beetle, which belongs to an amusing group called 'pleasing fungus beetles'. They are shiny and colorful, and many species provide ample reason to look closely at fungi coming out of rotting logs. See https://bugguide.net/node/view/1374853/bgimage

Thanks Mark for the ID.

What is this tree?
Small tree or large shrub, smooth bark unless quite tall.
Not all trees have these kind of blossoms. I presume these are male flowers
and the plants are fertilized by windborne pollen.
The blossoms are just under two inches stem to tip.
