I like both versions, but as an old photographer, I do prefer black and white.

Back when I was in high school, I was setting charges under stumps on our land. I got pretty good at judging how much to put under each sized stump. One time I decided to blow a very big stump. I put a much larger charge in. When it went off, I watched a piece of that stump fly high into the sky! It landed in the middle of the highway that ran in front of our house! I ran down to pull it off the highway before a cop came by. The reason for that happening was that the stump was rotten in the middle. It was not seeable on the surface. Maybe there was something similar in the blast shown here. That could be a reason not to blast in residential neighborhoods.

It looks totally different from when I lived there in the late 70's!

While I was working on an oil rig in Iran, I established a Gardner-Denver water pump at the river 2000 feet below the rig. When I looked at the output at the rig, there was a trickle coming out. I traced the pipes back ( 8" pipes) I found that they had routed the pipe3 through a refinery. Tracing through the refinery, I found that they had routed thru 1" pipes for a short distance. You should have heard the singing! Bernully Principle illustrated!

I have a friend who lost both arms at the shoulder. He often tells people "It's not what you can't do, It's what you can do."

My mother took me there several years before WW II. I remember ma blacksmith had me pump the bellows while he made me a nail. It looks entirely different now.

She seems to be able to step up onto the fridge! Not too young to be taught. I feel people wait too long to start teaching. I was once told by a teacher that children in first grade were too young to learn a foreign language because they couldn't keep them separate. When I was in Iran a friend and his viet wife were there with their 3 yr old daughter. One day his wife told me her daughter made her so mad. I asked her why and she told that whenever she was mad at her she would only speak Farsi! This 3year old spoke Farsi, Vietnamese and English! Don't wait to teach!

I know that, Earl. I owned a fifty year old wood sloop, and built a wooden dory, an 8 foot pram, and a 42 foot steel schooner. My last boat was a 40 foot fiberglass sloop, which I sold at a loss. I miss all my boats except that last one.

I know that, Ear4l. My first boat was a 50 year old sailboat. Since that time I built 2 wooden boats and a steel 42 foot schooner, and bought a 40 foot fiberglass sloop. I loved them all except the fiberglass one.

It's sad that some don't go back. I'm sure that there is someone, somewhere that would love to have a boat.
