Paul, most old dogs can’t learn new tricks. Instead, they just bark a lot.

#8 needs to be a mural on a Colorado country club wall. Gorgeous! Do you remember where that was, Beth?

When I get in the doldrums I go to Ouray, Colorado. If you can’t go there go a few miles from Austin to Friedricksburg, New Braunfels, Medina, Uvalde , Comfort or anywhere in the Hill Country.

Thanks all for your kind comments, Cliff, I may do some more work on those two images and see if I don't want to print one or both and put them on the walls. For months now I had so planned on spending days out shooting the fall but because of family obligations I have only been able to spend a few hours away from the house, 1/2 of my shots this year are taken from my porches as things did not work out as planned.

Even though things didn't work out as well as you planned, those two pictures are worth all the effort you put into your photos. I would definitely hang both of them on my walls. Sometimes our best shots are taken by accident, that's been the case with a number of mine.

I had Special K with strawberries and blueberries for breakfast, then several prunes afterwards because I’m old.

The people on this site take better pictures than those.

This was a cozy weekend cabin for rent on the highway in Colorado. I called the number to see what they wanted to rent it for but it was someone selling roofing repair who answered the phone.

Thank you! Where all did you visit in SW Colorado? When planning this trip, I was concerned about being on the late side for color at the higher elevations, but found I was a bit early--with the exception of Crested Butte.

I stayed in Ouray for two nights. Then went to Dillon and for three nights and traveled all over within 150 miles of there, over virtually every mountain pass around there. Then stayed the last night in Pueblo. The aspens were maybe 50% in their change when I was there this year. This was Sept 27 - Oct 3. During the same period last year the aspens were absolutely gorgeous with the mountains looking like they were on fire.

It looks like you times it almost perfectly!

I’m from New Orleans originally and the only place I ever saw a color change in Louisiana was driving along I-20 near Shreveport one year while traveling from New Orleans to Dallas one December.
