This is a single-shot macro image of my preserved dragonfly. I made modifications to lens mounted cone diffuser and I wanted to see how it would perform.

I placed a pastel cloud-patterned paper behind the dragonfly that was mounted on a pin. This is the same arrangement that I have been using on my recent posts other than using a different background.

The particulars of this session were a Nikon Z6 camera with a Nikon S-mount 105mm macro lens. Manual Mode, 1/60 sec. shutter speed, f/16, ISO-200, Auto White Balance, Nikon SB-800 Speedlight flash 1/4-power, diffused with the lens mounted 0.5mm white polyethylene plastic cone and foil-lined hooded flash head.

I saw this coppery-colored, blue-billed interesting bird almost every day while on a recent safari trip. But there was never a photo op. Finally on the morning of our last day we were on a pontoon boat trip along a very narrow river and I threw the camera up just as this Jacana was "taking his leave".

I didn't notice until viewing on my laptop that this was a size 8 bird with size 14 feet. How he gets airborne with all that drag is truly amazing.

A faster shutter speed would have been helpful, but I'll take what I can get.
