Yes.. I saw something very similar to this online. I liked it and thought I would give it a try.

Yep color checker passport is also on the list.
Currently using continuous light.
3 Softboxes loaded with Cree daylight 5200 k LED bulbs and Salvage Translum medium weight for scrims.
Flash is coming up on the to do list but I'm gonna wait till I am actually getting some income from this venture.
Another learning curve, I know. But I don't feel daunted by that. Been playing with a good Godox speed light and have gotten comfortable with light in general. That, pardon the pun, light bulb went off one day after quite a few weeks of hard work, study and getting a tethered monitor going.

I get it guys.
Bought my first camera ... a Sony full frame a little over 2 years ago.
Decided to get serious this last christmas.
Angling towards commercial, ecommerce, product shoot business.
So color correct would be critical.
Got Lightroom down and Photoshop pretty much together ( tho it never ends)
Ran into the whole color correct issue about 6 weeks ago
and now ....I give... I'm buying a calibration tool.

went to https://testthisdevice.com/color/
dragged the eye dropper outside photoshop to the colors on the page

blue was close
green was way off

Thanks... that makes sense.
So I gather there is no way to know without calibrating if a monitor is rendering "color" correctly?

I do not have a monitor calibrator... YET.. I am saving up for one so please don't answer with..." get a calibrator".
I get that.
In the mean time... I opened the attached .png RGB file directly into Photoshop and sampled the colors with the eye dropper tool.
They all registered the correct values.
So.... does that mean I am color correct?

Monitor is a Benq PD 2700Q and I have done all the online tests for contrast, gamma, sharpness, saturation and banding. It all checks out fine.

The spray is actually from a water bottle with a sprayer on it.
Took about 70 attempts with the camera set at 1000 second shutter speed and hi speed continuous shutter and on its own layer in photoshop.
The bottle is 8 layered shots on its own and the background is another shot of what started out as burlap but looked horrible so that layer got photoshopped alot.

I should add.... one needs to be careful to look ahead before you try this. Especially here in southwest Florida.
I have walked right into the water more than once.
