Especially for Velvet 56 owners and those with the Velvet on their Santa list. You know who you are. I posted these a while back to show the difference between apertures with the Velvet 56. My main reason for first posting these was to demonstrate that subjects shot using some of the Lensbaby lenses can seem to be out of focus but are not. I used a tripod and took 3 bracketed shots with focus on the center of the rose. I didn't shift my tripod, so focus stayed on the center for all 3. Conclusion: the center of all 3 roses are in focus.
Now, all that aside, my purpose for posting again was to show that you control your 'sharpness' with this lens with the aperture you choose. It doesn't bend like many of the other LB lenses and doesn't have the traditional 'sweet spot' of focus.

Plumbago it is, and I certainly do like them and agree that the evening light definitely called for these lovely shots! Butterflies (especially Spicebush swallowtail) love these for the nectar.
