Even back in the states HELL did not end. They would some days wake us up at 2:00 am just to hike in full gear for 8-10 miles just for the "fun" of it! Again....hike in HELL....then get back to meMarkus!
I did enough hiking in HELL! (Army) 1968-1970. I was treated like a dog for 24 months....hiking now brings back too many bad memories! You would think 45 years time would have washed away the bad stuff...but the sleepless nights still remain! Hike in Hell....then talk to me1
Good luck!! At 67...and in poor health....the only Subway I want is a COLD CUT COMBO!
I flew into LAS....rented a car...and drove to the GC and MV. From there I them went to the Mighty 5. 14 day trip. Last 2 were in LV. Just walking around that town was bad enough!
I just went there last month. When I found out how long the hike would be.....I crossed it off the list!! People would ask me: "Are you going hiking with us to Antelpe Canyon tomorrow!?" I would say: "Unless I can drive my car to the rim.....to me Antelope Canyon will become NOALOPE CANYON!" To me.....no picture is worth a long hike. Same thing with Delicate Arch! When they told me it may be 2 hours out and 2 hours back.....I found a place I could take a pic of the Arch with only walking 4-5 minutes. I took a couple pictures from there and just TOLD everyone I walked 4 hours r/t!
Go to Youtube and put in The Mighty 5. LOTS of videos to watch to give you ideas. I go May 10-24 and will be on here posting pics when I get back.
I will be in the same area 05/10-05/24 for the Mighty 5 plus Grand Canyon. 1300 miles in 14 days from Las Vegas.
Like I said before. I have diabetis. Five shots a day. Insulin am/pm and the "pen" before every meal. When I'm out hiking on the "Mighty 5" I would have to come back to the car/hotel before every meal. This way I can stay out for the day and still take care of my diabetis. Meter/needles/pens plus camera stuff would fill all the pockets.
The Mighty 5 is five National Parks in Southern Utah. Plus I'm also going to the Grand Canyon. 1300 miles in 14 days. In and out of Vegas.
I meant The Mighty Five in Utah...sorry.
I have diabetis. 5 shots a day. "Pen" 3 times a day before meals. Must check blood sugar before each meal to get exact dose. Insulan twice a day am/pm. W/o vest I would have to walk back to car/hotel at each meal. Insulan needs to be "cool" at all times....vest would help with ice packs if hiking.
Lots of pockets would be just for diabetis only. THATS WHY I could use a vest.
Who uses them? Going on a "Mighty 5" trip and thought one may come in handy. Any good brands to look for?
I have a Canon T3I with these lens: Canon 18-55 mm/Canon 50 mm/Sigma 18-250 mm/Canon 10-18 mm. Is their one that should stay on the most? 14 day trip from Vegas.
I have a T3I for a hobby. I leave it on auto all the time. I have an automatic trans in my car. At 67 I have never drove a manual trans....why would I?
If you are happy with the results....why set the camera every time you take a pic? Thats why they have simple settings for night photography.
Aperture/focal length....I've been taking pictures since 1977 and still have no idea on that stuff!
I have no idea how a car runs....never look under the hood...but I have been driving since 1966. Tripod? Don't have one.....
I KNOW 0 ABOUT CARS...BUT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR A LITTLE OVER 50 YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM. THATS WHAT AOTOMATIC TRANS ARE FOR. I HAVE A T3I....ALWAYS SET ON AUTO. I TAKE GREAT PICTURES...WITH HARDLY ANY LEARNING. I PUT A POPCORN BAG IN THE MICRO AND PUSH POPCORN. THEY MAKE THINGS EASIER NOWDAYS FOR A PURPOSE...TO MAKE THINGS EASIER. IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS....WHY TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN. I WILL GO THE THE "UTAH 5" NEXT YEAR WITH MY CAMERA ON AUTO 100% OF THE TIME. IT'S NO LONGER ABOUT PERFECT....IT'S ABOUT HAVING FUN.
