Not sure I would trust those DVD's... They do degrade over time...

For less than $100 you can buy a 2TB Sata drive and an external USB 'dock' for the drive. I use two of the drives and alternate, keeping one drive in a safe we have. Much cheaper and easier/faster than using remote/cloud storage.

I think Schoodic Park has it over Acadia and you might be able to get to both in the same day. The drive around Scoodic has much more scenery in my opinion and the Park is less crowded.

BTW, my avatar at the moment is Stonington Harbor, one of our favorite visits and is what a "Maine fishing village" should look like. Have the twin lobster special at the Harbor Cafe.

Tools: Your picture looks like Maine as well.. Is it?

The Black Capped Chickadee... D7100. Tamron 150-600mm. One of my first pictures with the Tamron, taken from inside the house out to our back railing... Where we have more than enough Chickadees.

Thanks for the info... It seems there are a series of "From snapshots to Great Shots". And one of them is generic... It reads just like the D7100 book but deals mostly with photo situations and teaches the "triangle".

I think I'm all set until told differently... :-(

Thanks!

My wife has a Sony HX200 "bridge" camera and is trying to learn the basics of ISO-SSpeed-Aperture and other basics of good photography. She's been taking (tons of) photos for years with point-and-shoot cameras but is trying to get better control of the camera.

I just bought a D7100 which isn't relevant except that there are a LOT of good books on learning the D7100 and also posing different situations and how to handle them with the D7100. Currently reading "D7100: From Snapshots to Great Shots" and it provides all of the above but is focused on using the D7100.

I have searched for a similar book on the Sony HX200 and there appears to be NO books covering that camera other than the droll users manual which we have.

Does anyone know of a good "generic" book that covers general photo shots but is not tailored to any one camera?

Thanks Bruce

We often have coddled eggs but make a big deal out of it. Start with some Sherry, add some cream cheese, bacon chips, swiss cheese and egg, then start over again but only add Sherry at the last. Thus it's quite a nice mixture of egg, cheese, and bacon. Yum. We use a wedge of Laughing Cow for the cream cheese, dividing it in half for the two layers.
