I'm afraid no one would stop me taking photos at my daughters wedding. If you are sensible about it there is no need to get in the main photographers way.
I assume that you went through the correct procedure by pressing share which opens up the email address part. What you can do is when you try again, is to tick the box where it says [ Send me a copy of this email ], that way you will know
if it was sent.
They seem to have them all over now there are one or two in the Water of Leith in Edinburgh.
The Brittania is just round the corner from it and it's nearly imposible to photograph.

I think it will be scrapped.
The HMS Edinburgh has been brought to Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal for decommissioning.

Probably sometime early next year as far as I can make out.
The midges are not to bad during the month of May but the weather can be a bit iffy so do take warm clothing if you are going to the north of Scotland. Edinburgh is a bit disrupted at the moment because they are in the process of instaling a tram line from the airport to the city center.
Oh and Scotland is NOT shut on a Sunday.
The main thing to do is enjoy your holiday and if I can be of help just let me know as I live in Edinburgh.
