"A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" A novel written in 1943, and later adapted to a movie. But since 1870, a tree has been growing from the tower of the courthouse in Greensburg Indiana.
Much has been written of the tree. And many jokes have been made, such as it gets its water from the clock springs. Nuff said, it is unusual.

The shoe tree is in Southern Indiana. The story goes that Boy Scouts in hiking to some of the caves in the area would toss their shoes in the tree. On my journey there I deposited an old pair of mine.

I would really like to take more of the wooden silo. I might try and find out who owns it. My daughter did a project when she was in 4-H where she documented the history of the neighborhood (we are rural so Neighborhood is loosely used here). She found an older man that knew who built some of the barns and he took her around and pointed out the barns that he knew about. She took pictures and wrote down as much history as she could find. Some people even let her in to photography the inside of the barns. It was quite the project and included taped interviews with some of them and many gave her pictures of houses, barns and people that settled the area. This area was first settled in the 1840's so it is fairly new.
