Hi Larry,
I promised to get back with you about the D750 and Nikon 16-35 combo. It's hard to argue with what was written about the Tamron lens. I know it's gotten good reviews
and it was one I considered. In fact it was my first choice until I stumbled into a price hard to pass on with the Nikon 16-35. I'm not going to try and argue against the Tamron.

That being said and keep in mind, I don't claim to be an expert at all. However, I found the Nikon 16-35 to be a sharp lens, especially at F8. The corners were as sharp as the center from what I could see. At F4, maybe a slight drop off. You have to blow it up to 100% to see it. In comparing that lens to a DIFFERENT Tamron lens than the new 15-30, the Nikon is for sure sharper. I thought it was sharper than my old Nikon 28mm 2.8 lens too. I know some will scream, I'm only telling you what I saw. I've made some very nice prints in the 14 x 20 range with the 28mm lens too and they look sharp. I haven't made any prints with the Nikon 16-35 yet because none of the photos I took were print worthy. They were only for testing. Who knows, I might trade this in for the new Tamron, but for now, Ill stick with the Nikon. If I had the cash, I would buy the Tamron to see the difference, but for 8x10 prints, I'm not sure I would see a difference.

Not sure how much that helped you, but I did promise to get back with you, so I did. Is it the worlds sharpest lens, I doubt it, but you can do a lot worse. I know, I have some lenses, even Nikons, which are not as sharp as the 16-35.

Will do, Larry. I'll get back to you in the next few days after I have time to wander around with it.

I have a Nikon D750 and recently picked up a Nikon 16-35. I went back and forth between getting the 20mm or the 16-35. Both get great reviews.
I haven't used the 16-35 enough to give a better critique, other than I'm pleased with the combo so far. I had an older 28mm 2.8 and I wanted wider. The 16-35 has the
newer silent motor auto focus, which is super fast, not that you might need that for landscapes :), but I thought I would mention it. Not all Nikon lenses
are the same, but everything I read and now have seen first hand, the 16-35 is a top lens, though keep in mind its an F4 lens. Its why I almost went for the
20mm, but I thought the 16-35 was more useful for why I wanted a wide angle lens. Not sure how much that helped, but I'm planning on using the 16-35 in the coming days and I can update you if you like?

DONT reformat your drive. I had the same problem with a Seagate external drive a few times. All I did was unplug the drive and plug it back in and let Windows find the drive again. It always found it properly the second time. It only happened a couple of times after Win 10 installed and hasn't happened since. I have 2 different Seagates and happened on both. I have another drive with a different company and didn't happen at all with that one, knock on wood. My guess is that Win 10 had to find the proper driver for the Seagate drives before it would stop not finding the drive. But your data is likely there if you haven't reformatted the drive and will work.

I agree with what has been written already. Most of the earlier computers sold as packages like the old Dell's and Packard Bells, ect, had boot up disks made for each system. It was done so that it would save on tech support. People on the phone would have you wipe everything clean and reinstall from scratch, most times losing all your data. I'm not sure of that exact model, but assuming it can run Win 10, a clean install should work using a Win 10 boot up disk.

However, it could be a failed hard drive and no start up disk will work. The only way to test that without diagnostics would be to try the startup disk from Windows, or put in a different hard drive. If you need a new hard drive, you will likely need the Win 10 setup anyway to format the new drive and install the operating system (Win 10).

Assuming the hard drive in the computer still works, if the Win 10 installation should reformat the hard drive and.. jeesh I cant think of the other term, but it might do something else as well, like reconfiguring the hard drive. However, I doubt you need a new motherboard, from what you posted. Its sounds like a hard drive issue. But Letmedance is correct, you will need drivers for your other devices, like printers, ect. Some will come with the Win 10 install, some wont. I hope that helps some.

Bottom line, you could have 2 issues. You need disks to install an operating system, and you don't really know if the current hard drive works. Sometimes you can open the case and hear a noise (other than the fans) and hear the drive either not spinning at all, or making a grinding sound. Either way, that's not good.

Congrats, very nice..
I have one that is in my area, but by the time I hear him and can grab my camera, he seems to fly off. When I go searching, he's always
flying across the lake. One of these days I'm going to get that sucker in an image.

Wow, and to think my wife talked me into going to Europe instead of Iceland. She won't win again
after seeing your photos. Outstanding.

I have a Wacom tablet and love it. I agree with the above comment about taking some time to learn how to use it properly, but once you
get the hang of it, its a great tool.
