Saw some pictures of Sydney harbor earlier that reminded me that I was there five years ago and loved it. Here are a few pictures from that trip.

I was fascinated by all the triangles even in the reflections. Took this shot from the deck of my sail boat at sunset.

Excellent photo. I am so impressed that you can capture all that detail and hand hold that rig.

Thanks for the reply. I am going with OAT and I would be very interested in any advice that you can share about photo opportunities etc. We are going on 15 Feb through about 8 March.

I have run seven Marathons including Boston and New York and I regularly bench press 170 lbs but carrying a 22 lb camera pack for five or six hours is not something that I enjoy. Last year I did it in Machu Picchu at 10000 ft and it wasn't fun. It takes a great deal of effort and worry to protect the big lens when climbing up rocky terrain. It just seems that on such trips the smaller/lighter rig would be more appropriate, especially if the results are good.

I am heading to Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos) in February. Normally I would travel with my Cannon 5DIII and two or three heavy L lenses, including the 70 -200 F2.8L IS. Carrying this heavy package around is getting to be too much. Especially on a trip like this where we are expecting to walk several miles a day. So I just purchased an Olympus OM-D micro 4/3 and a couple of lenses. Here is a shot that I took two weeks ago trying to get used to this new camera. Any comments, critiques or advice on whether or not to use this camera would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

My name is Tony and I live on Jamestown Island in the middle of Narragansett Bay in the state of Rhode Island. I am recently semi-retired from a very high technology job and I am anxious to devote more time to photography as a hobby. I have dabbled in it for several years during which I have accumulated quite a bit of gear (Cannon 5DIII, Cannon 50D, Olympus OMD Micro 4/3, and a comparable set of Cannon L lenses). I have taken a lot of pics over the years but I have never had a means of judging how to improve my skills. I joined this group hopping that I can get some constructive criticism. Thank you.
