I remember how badly I wanted to go out an shoot that day, unfortunately I was stuck at work.....maybe next time. On a side note, I have seen many pictures from this vantage point, and I must say that this is one of the best, if not the best. Thank you for posting it.
yeah it is, that is a great idea, I love it when something old can be turned into something new.
I want to sit in that chair up in the window, if it wouldn't fall in on me. I really like the one with the oil barrels, it reaches out to me for some reason. Did you take these in B&W, or do that later in editing?
Thanks guys, I like the bee too, and am in the middle of cloning out the stem behind its head.

The first picture is of Rockaway Beach, Oregon at sunset. I took 3 exposures, and used Photoshop Elements to merge them into this one. If anyone has experience with HDR, please feel free to chime in on how this could be made better.
The second is also on the Oregon Coast and again is a composite of three exposures. Same question. I am very glad to have found this site and appreciate all the constructive comments I am seeing from everybody.
Why HDR on a sunset? HDR(High Dynamic Range) isn't going to add anything to a sunset.

Hey Bob, I don't wanna be a stickler or anything like that, but I didn't know what High Dynamic Range was so I goggled it, and went to images. Out of the first 20 HDR pictures, 8 were of glorious sunsets.....now I am certainly no pro, or even close, but the pictures I saw looked to me like they were shot by a pro. Maybe our photographer here saw that and got the idea....maybe not, but I think it loos good, and if it is too dark, it only by a little bit.
This gets me so excited for the changing of the colors. Very good pictures, they evoked the emotion of anticipation in me.
I really like the "Nessy" one, mainly because of subject matter, it instantly reminded me to the grainy old photo that circulated so many years back. Funny how the eye can be cued to see different things. The IR filtered one is cool too.
My name is Steve, I live in Tacoma Washington, I like to take pictures, however I have absolutely no idea what I am doing right now, well, maybe a little, but that's it....lets just say I am striving for mediocrity right now. I am told that I am funny, so there's that. I am told that I have a good eye for photos, but that is by friends, so you know I cant trust that. Anyway, here is three of my photos to get started....
