"Formatted the whole hard disk": there are two kinds of formatting in Windows, quick format and full format. If you used quick format, the file data are recoverable; the quick format only rewrites what's necessary to make the disk look empty. The full format writes the entire disk, so file data are not recoverable. If you used the full format, you are SOL; there's no point in seeking professional help.
