Excellent as is. After some research, learned that I could set my Epson R300 to print using black only as opposed the default which uses all the colors to print black and white. Black only produced a much better result, however printing at Walmart or Costco was better and cheaper that what I could print at home.
It seems that most of these forms recommended Canon or Nikon because the are so successfully marketed and promoted.
I use a Pentax istD and K-7 because the are smaller and lighter then the Canon and Nikon, capable of using any lens ever made by Pentax. Pentax anti shake system is in the camera and not the lens. This makes lens when compared smaller and lighter and less costly.
The first photos were taken with my K-7 and a Sigma 170-500mm lens at 500mm hand held. The 3rd photo was take with my istD.

Great photos, never know what they are going to do next. My grandsons were visiting last summer. Attached are a couple of pictures taken along a creek and in Yellowstone.

My K-7 has built in shake resistance so I think I can get away with slower than 1/500 sec.
Attached is a hand held shot I took at an air show this summer @ 400mm, F9, 400 ISO & 1/320 sec with this lens.
Thanks for the comments. I am still trying to get good shots with this lens. It is slow and the the light was not very good. When it is bright and sunny I can get good results with the ISO limited to 400. I limited the ISO to keep the noise low. I actually took over 200 shots of this bear, some with a mono pod, some hand held and some with a car window mount. He was moving very slow so I thought I could get away with the slow shutter speed.
Will try a different setting shutter to 1/250 next time. Thanks again for your input.
Only by increasing the ISO and getting more noise.
I am an avid wildlife and landscape photographer living near Yellowstone National Park. This is an excellent time of year for photographing bears and Elk in and around Yellowstone.
My main camera is a Pentax K-7. For wildlife I have been using a Sigma 170-500mm lens. The bear pictures were shot at 500mm, 400 ISO and 1/50 second.
