I am not going to debate you as I do not assume I will change your mind, but I will answer your question by saying Yes.

Without the government I believe we would revert to a Wild West society where the one with the biggest, or fastest gun wins. Do you really want that?

I get it, you want to defend yourself. I am okay with that, but I ask that you do it responsibly, registering your gun and by taking a class to learn how to use the weapon properly.

Do I think you need an assault weapon? No, but again I am not going to change your mind so I will not beat my head against a wall trying to do so.

Believe what you believe, but do so responsibly.

Register guns? Do thugs register their stolen ones?

God forbid we use them to kill people...

If I may assume where you are heading. Do you really think it necessary to have an automatic assault weapon in your home to protect yourself? If so, maybe you should consider one of these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d84r8gMGxFQ

Where does it stop? When is too much, too much?

Claymores work very well.

From the AP:

Hmmmm..... a kid under adult (a certified instructor, no less) supervision has an accident with a firearm that ends his life.

When in the name of simple common sense are we going to learn that every single time a gun is handled the chance of injury and death escalates.

I have known that for most of my life. That is why I have managed to keep from being injured or injuring anyone else when I use my firearms. One must RESPECT weapons.

Canon SX50, burst mode, 1200 mm equiv angle of view. Edits in PSE 12, Topaz Detail, Nik ColorEfex. Wide-angle scenic was shot in raw.

For SX50 users - if you download #4 you'll see what might be my best quality image shot at this distance. Though I did some pp, the original was pretty nice. Good air with no wind, perfect early morning light, maybe a good day for me re being able to hold steady :) and yeah, probably some luck :)

Thanks so much for viewing!

I think you might be right about #4, shooting these birds is addicting. Oh, and about being lucky, the harder you work to improve, the "luckier" you get.......
:) :) :) :) :-)

So much fun to watch the grow, but sad when one day they are gone to start their new life.

That's OK, this is the second one I have seen this pair raise successfully.

Great shots. It is very hard not to blow out the white-I know cause eagles are my favorite and I have messed up my share. The young one, if a a male, looks a few years away from the white head eagles get after they turn five. Again, nice job showing the detail in the black. Your exposure settings nailed these. Great job. Ron :)

Thanks Ron, I hope to shoot them again tomorrow afternoon.

Since I have posted but have been looking everyday to view the postings on UHH.
We have made the move to our new home in Quesnel, B.C. The 50 acre farm we purchased is truly a blessing.
I am posting some pics taken before we left Kelowna and one from here on the farm. All together there are 6 photos.
I'm finding out that there are a lot of different birds to photograph here on the farm. I just need the time to go out and take some.
I hope you will enjoy them.

A beautiful set. Please keep them coming.......... :)
