Doesn't this sort of story belong in some Sunday school rather than here?

The turn signal lever was on the column gear shift lever. First car I ever drove and the last for a while as my Dad thought I was clueless.

Nice collection of the cream of the cream, which were only available to the very richest customers. On the other hand, Walter Chrysler gave America the Airflow around 1934. It was a huge departure from the flock and some say way too advanced for the time. Sales languished and it was three or four years before the buying public was comfortable in accepting the bold designs introduced. Ford offered the Zephyr in 1936, just as radical as the Airflow, but a lot nicer looking and did okay.

The camera work strongly suggests that it was staged. One tough hombre just the same.

Robert Tressell's monumental book 'Ragged Trousered Philanthropists' published circa 1914 depicting the lives of tradesmen and their families around 1906 was hugely popular.
The observations that he made for his time are uncomfortably relevant today. A good read, if a little too long to make his point. I found 'The Jungle' by Upton Sinclair to have said what needed to be said in the first half of the book.
I have wondered at times if we Americans would have been so embracing of Britain during its heyday if we had continued to be a colony. Churchill repeatedly tried to convince FDR to help him restore Britain's Empire after WWII. His pleas fell on deaf ears. As you recall, India gained its independence in 1948..the crown jewel in the UK's tiara.

You say the audience went wild? You bet! Hitler had it confiscated. It has only been the past decade that almost all of the original film has been pieced together from rarely discovered finds.

You are amused by how off-track the dialog can race. At least there is no vitriol...go back and read the rants on 'liberals' and such. Then you'll see just how wild the arc can be.!! :^)

That sort of thing probably happened all the time back in the day of naked Olympians.

I have seen the car and photographed it. The roadster body looks to be the original. Unclear about the mileage.
The Springfield , Massachusetts museum is full of interesting goodies. Springfield gave birth to the Springfield rifle, Excelsior and Indian motorcycles, some airplanes, radios and lots of smaller contributions to making life easier.
