funny thing - this is still the color version, didn't need to covert to B & W. These were snow clouds with sun just coming thru.

Was hiking in a state wildlife area by where I live and spotted this rope hanging just outside some openings in a steep cliff. No signs of any animal life. Could a hawk, eagle, or owl be involved with this rope ?. It is close to lake pueblo where boating is very popular. All these photo's were taken with my D7100 in HDR mode.
looks like old boat tie-up rope

Simply use the View NX2 disc that came with your camera. Adobe is always a couple months behind for upgrading their ACR software when it comes to new releases.
my mac pro doesn't have a disk reader, have downloaded from the nikon web site
That works too, its free.
can now download net/raw files, never used View NX2, will start to learn this software. I am also looking at lightroom, good thing I'm retired should keep me busy this weekend

Took this quick shot this morning with my new camera. The bug was the size of an eraser on a pencil. The photo was hand held no flash. The photo was cropped also.
Great bug shot, I also have the Nikon 105mm - great lens.

Having problems downloading NEF-RAW into mac-pro laptop into I-photo or Aperture. Contacted apple - they have not received update's for the D7100 to accept NEF-RAW. The only issued I have had at this time with the new camera.
Am I right in thinking that this is a brand-new camera model only recently released?
If so, it always takes Adobe a bit of time to include the new models in their ACR plug-in, I wonder if the same is true for Apple?
It would be so nice if the camera makers would allow the software makers to get pre-release specimens of the new cameras so the software could be updated at the same the new camera is released... Yeah, keep dreaming, Esther!

Yes the camera is new - Nikon D7100. Can download JPEG just fine. I'm sure someone dropped the ball on this, not a big issue to me at this time
