The A65 body is somewhat smaller.

I use the HVLF-58AM on the A65 with no problems, I use the other HVLF-58AM on the A77ii with the Sony supplied adapter no problems either.
When using the HVL-F60M on the A77ii the flash heats up rather quickly and the flash shuts off, not the camera. After it cools a few minutes it works again till it shuts off.
I don't use the HVL-F60M on the A65 ever. I use the HVLF-58AMs on both cameras. One with an adapter and one without never any problems. Most of the time I leave the HVL-F60M at home. It only gets used when I need to only take a few shots.
