Shooting a high school football game for the newspaper and not realizing I did’t have the sync cord for the flash plugged in. (Back in the ‘70s when we could shoot flash)
Luck was in my side as I got two shots lit be some other photographer’s flash. One was a touchdown from the end zone that they printed. I was using a Mamiya C-330 medium format twin-lens reflex. One would have thought I would notice my flash recycle time was non-existent. Young and dumb, back then.

Ah, but the C-330 is a sweet camera. Shot many weddings with it back in the 80's. I still have it. I put a drop of glue on the selector switch so it would never accidentally come off of X.

A "dusting" as the meteorologists like to say. Went out early before the temp rose and it was just a memory.

My 5 yr old granddaughter has determined that because there is no chimney/fireplace in their home, Santa must be entering and leaving through their skylight.

Some images definitely look better without the color.

Thinking of doing more black and white and wonder if I should set my camera to shoot that style or just make the change in my photo editing program. Any suggestions?

My Fuji X-T2 lets you choose three different image styles, but unlike bracketing which takes three different shots, it converts one shot into three images in camera. You can choose from a variety, like say one kind of color, a monochrome, and a very contrasty black and white.

Once upon a time, photography was associated with the really cool sound of a motor driven film camera advancing the film. Then, digital photography came along and took that cool sound away.
Photography can still sound pretty cool in a studio environment with a bunch of studio lights all firing. Unfortunately, it's not a sound all photographers get to experience.

So what sounds are left? Well...we have the autofocus confirmation beep! Now, the beep has often been regarded as "not professional" and some photographers will cringe if they hear it.
There are also times we do need the camera to be silent but there are also many times we do not.
The beep is actually a helpful sound to inform you focus has been achieved. It really doesn't deserve to have the poor reputation it does as it can be a helpful tool.

I have decided I really like the confirmation beep sound on my Nikon D200 and it's quite cute. I'm going to turn it on and enjoy it! With our fun sounds being taken away and with mirrorless cameras looking like they will soon remove the majority of sounds from photography, I'm making the most of what is left. I am going to shoot with the autofocus confirmation beep on.

Do you beep or not beep?
Once upon a time, photography was associated with ... (show quote)

I do, for the very same reason. It's a quick confirmation of focus. My Fuji has three sound levels, and I chose low. Enough for me to hear to hear it, but not loud enough to really bother anyone else. I will occasionally focus in manual, but only for the rare occasion that auto focus is challenged.

Had you asked, I would have taken you for a ride in it....in my dreams, that is..!😜 Beauty beyond words and a job well done of documenting it.

Way back in the 70's walking back to my car, there was a Lamborghini parked next to me. You could see the 12 cylinder mid mounted engine through the glass rear window, with another pane of glass separating it from the passengers. Anyway, this very unassuming guy came back and we started to talk about how beautiful I thought his car was, and said "If I dont ask, Ill always regret it, will you give me a ride?" To my surprise he said yes. Sitting in the bucket seat with the big windshield wrapping around me, he hits the gas, we go flying down the street to the next stop sign. He hit 60 and never took it out of first! Being pushed back in that seat, and the sound of that V12 engine, is something Ill never forget.

I've routinely made coffee-table sized photo books using LrC and Blurb. They turn out beautiful. You can also create a book from the Blurb website, as you can from many other photo websites.

I just made one through MPIX. My second one. I chose their Signature Album, which has hard "cardboard" type pages. It was expensive, but a nice, nice album. Leather cover, 10x10 (they have several sizes), and you can put up to 100 photos in it. I chose 80, but with their special is was north of $300. It is a beautiful book though. Their basic book holds 20, but I dont recall the price.

The one that's sturdy enough to hold your heaviest gear, but light enough that you'll actually carry it.
