I have one. Use it with my D5100 and D7200.
I’m not entirely satisfied because it, alone of my five lenses, has a recurring “hunt” in the autofocus of both cameras.
If you shoot with manual focus the problem obviously doesn’t occur.
A lovely girl!
We lost our Lily, a Pixiebob, a year ago; missed her terribly.
Now we have another: Maxie. Our lived are so much fuller again.
Thank you all for the quick inputs.
Happy holidays to all!
Hi, I’m an experienced amateur who just upgraded from Nikon D5100 to D7200.
I’ve been using a Neewer 0.43 multiplier on my Nikon kit 18-55mm zoom lens. It has proven more than just successful for more than five years but I think I want to upgrade to a DX wide angle zoom to take advantage of my improved resolution.
My primary candidates are Nikon 10-24mm, Nikon 10-20mm, and the comparable (?) Sigma, Tamron and Tokina.
Does anyone have advice, suggestions or other comments?
Try using a relatively inexpensive doubler, like the Vivitar I bought online. I effectively changed by Nikkor 55-300mm zoom into a 110-600mm.
The lens is slower and a bit trickier to focus but the results can be amazing considering the cost.
I don't know the technical background, but I found that you can get a pretty effective doubler for a reasonable price on line
I have a Nikon D5100 for which I bought a Vivitar doubler. It slows the lens down and makes the autofocus a bit spotty.
I've gotten some very good pix, though. The attached photos were taken with my 55-300mm Nikkor zoom and the Vivitar doubler, giving me a effective focal length of 600mm.
