I have had this revolver for going on maybe 20 years but have hardly fired it. It is still in top notch condition. Like many S&W revolvers of its era it has the serial number on the bottom of the grip frame on the back of the cylinder and underneath the barrel just above the ejector housing. These numbers all match.

Well captured nice gun.

$ area little off topic, but related to the gun... what is the inflation rate of .22 ammo since the day you obtained that gun.

This is a very strong and accurate 5 shot single action revolver that is I carry occasionally as a back up hunting gun. It is in one of my favorite calibers, 45 Colt and is lightweight but can handle high pressure loads with ease. You can see it is an early model due to the low serial number.

Again excellent captures of a fine looking gun

In my Commercial Photography series of photos my next selection is a Ruger Bisley Stainless revolver with dual cylinders, one in .45 Colt and the other in 45 ACP. I included two photos showing the two different cylinders and ammunition for each trying for a different expression of displaying the different caliber cartridges, lines up straight in one version and one in a star pattern for another example.

Nicely captured... again... you have got this setup/capture down pat

Always liked Ruger revolvers. My 1st "new" revolver was a Ruger Security Six (.357) in Stainless. This one came from Ruger with a 6" barrel, target sights, and Pachmayer grips (with Ruger logo imbedded).

I have owned this pistol since the early 1970's and carried it a lot as an off duty gun back then as a Deputy Sheriff in Santa Barbara County, CA. At the time installing S&W target sights was a common alteration for LEO because they were lower than other target style sights such as Micro or Bomar. The sights were installed by a pistol smith named James Hoag in Canoga Park, CA. He did an excellent job.

Excellent captures of a fine gun.

I don't own a 1911 but I acknowledge its considerable/historic reputation. I have fired them over the years, shooting with friends. I do own a .45 but it is a Glock 21 SF. One 1911 that always temped me was the Colt Delta Elite. Many years ago (when that 10MM model came out), at a gun show, I got to fire 3 rounds from one. Not my skills, just luck, but those 3 rounds patterned so close I could hardly believe it.

You have had some interesting vehicles. When I got orders to go to Germany, in 1969, I planned to buy a BMW 2002 Tii then when I started shopping discovered I could not afford the insurance ... since it was in the sport car class (I don't remember their name for it) and I was too young to get decent insurance prices... Driving a friend's Porche in Germany soured me on Porche... I was used to big HP American cars and NOT used to having to keep the revs up to GO!

This site was the first gator we encountered at Gulf Shores State Park. The gator was chasing a turtle around the bank. It was exciting watching nature at work. The gator did not get the turtle.

In Clearwater, FL, behind my office at the time... many years ago, there was a pond and a walking path around it... which was popular at lunch time. I was on my lunch break ine day when a gator grabbed a turtle. The gator tried to get a better/deeper grip and the turtle got away... but left his left rear leg behind. For many months that was a subject of discussion on lunch walks and everyone liked seeing the 3 legged turtle still around. There were a couple of other turtles there with scrape marks on their shell... but none so famous as the 3 legged turtle.

GAS, we know what it means here at UHH. I am employed part time at a major outdoor retailer and I observe a slightly different iteration where I work. Every day customers come in thinking that a new fishing rod and/or new fishing reel will transform them into world class fishers. A new bait is seen on a TV show; it is made out to be the latest/greatest sure fire fish getter yet; when it is not in the store's on hand inventory when they are there, they grump about it and storm off. The store I work at has over 100 feet of linear floor space just crammed with who knows how many baits and lures and hooks and rods and reels, yet this is never quite enough. To this I add...IF there is ever a focused ecological effort to cut way back on plastics overall for the sake of the health of our planet, fishing will be impacted. Most all baits, both hard and soft, are made of plastics of some sort.
GAS in fishing has its onset at a very young age, and I blame that partly on competitive fishing where junior high and high school aged kids insist on having THE BEST to compete regardless how much the tackle costs; and parents and grandparents shell out mega bucks to their kids and grandkids. When will it stop???
GAS is not exclusive to photography!!!

Years ago, the wife and I were in a store and I was, along with several others, looking at a bin of lures that were marked down to sell. After a bit, my wife asked how long it takes to pick out a lure and I replied that I was imagining that I was a bass and trying to determine which one looked the most tasty... The other folks quietly eased away.
