Spectacular! Seems like perfect time of day for lighting. Also, the way the waves break between the rocks so that there are those individual curves of white foam...did I say spectacular already?

Yes, the light was really bright, which made the shadows darker and made the settings more difficult. But I have been experimenting with the camera in all light conditions so it helped me get details in those shadows that were brought up in post.

Along the Great Ocean Road you come upon some places that you appreciate for their natural beauty. This was one of them for me. The erosive power of the ocean is visible on a grand scale here and on down the coastline.

Thank you. I try to get angles and sight lines that are different from what I’ve seen before.

I am with ya there. Saw one the other day…. You’d have to tie a bone to the door to get your dog to want to jump in.

One of the most difficult things about this building is being able to get the exposure right on all of the roof tiles. You have managed this really well, excellent pics

Thank you. 😁. I am always trying to pay attention to the details on my meter to get things right. It helps to have a large sensor ( Canon 5Dsr ) that captures the detail well during the day and even in night shot photos. I was rewarded, I think, with decent photos.

A beautiful Indiana morning sunrise sequence.

#2 is intriguing. The double rear view mirror reflexion and the color tone of the rising sun on the truck and the road drew me in.

I am off for Alaska agin - to see the scenery and wildlife. One of my instructors recommended I get a new tripod (old one has broken) and recommended a Feisol 3442 and their ball head too. Having a hard time finding recent reviews of them. Anyone familiar with the brand? Thank you!!

Yes, I bought mine after getting feedback from several people on this forum. I have been very happy with its sturdy build quality and light weight. It fits inside my carryon bag and has its own heavy duty nylon/canvass cover and carry strap. I just recently used it for many of the photos I took in Australia and was very pleased with it. I purchased a Siriu ball head for it and find the combination to be quite durable and easy to use and setup.

Both excellent--the first is my winner.

Thank you. It’s difficult for me to pick one over the other. Although I’m not sure if my inner eye put the nighttime photo first in the post. 😎

Great pictures of this iconic building.

Thank you. Getting these captures and having them done well was one of my goals on the trip to Australia.
