This conversation is really a discussion of definition and intent. My phone dictionary has four definitions for “art.”

Essentially:

1. Products of human creativity
2. Creating beautiful or significant things
3. Superior skill via study, practice and observation
4. Photographs and other visual representations in a printed publication

Deciding which one is being referred to can be helpful in discussing the topic.

The other factors are the photographer’s intent and the viewer’s impression, which is the “in the eyes of the beholder” variable. Because of the somewhat relative nature of beauty and the vagueness of the word “art” the answer will necessarily be highly opinion based rather than objective. That is what makes it interesting to discuss. One gets an insight to others’ motives, methods and values.

I have a Pentax K-3ll which is sealed. If I use a sealed lens as well and do not remove it from the camera until everything has warmed up it seems to me that condensation should not be an issue. Does anyone see an error in this thinking? I have been using the zip lock process just because I haven’t been sure about the camera and lens sealing. I have had the camera and a WR lens literally sitting in a pool of water for over a half and hour once when I was in a kayak with no ill effects.

Have been for a long time. I have a K2S, K-3ll and some older models of film and digital formats. They are really good cameras. Just went a bit crazy and bought the 150-450 telephoto. Unfortunately, I rarely see others with a Pentax camera. Glad to see some other Pentaxtians on this forum.
