I agree that the mountains need somewhere to sit, but maybe they don't need a seat that is quite so wide. My thought is that cropping about half of the green foreground would still leave adequate seating room.

Very interesting picture and a nice application of 2000+ years old mathematics.

I have also used Blurb but only for one book. The book contains photos and minimal text (captions). I decided on hardcover on their cheapest paper in 12x12 since that format neatly allows for horizontal and vertical images. You get discounts if you buy 10 (35%) or 20 (40%) books. For 10 books I paid somewhere between US$500 and US$600.

I considered selling the book through Blurb but decided against it; they have thousands of books for sale, making the odds of my book selling well rather low. Since I don't need the money, I decided to give the book away to friends and relations.

I bought my similar-age granddaughter an Olympus TG-5; it is on sale for $399. My main considerations were that the camera should be simple to operate and be robust. Kids that age are not always careful around delicate equipment.

Thanks, I also saw the rumor but I think that would be way more than I'm willing to spend right now.

We all have financial limitations. Given that the projected release date is the second half of 2019. it's too early to speculate about price. My WAG is that the price would be in the same ball park as the 5DS.

I am in Barnes and Noble with some frequency. Most of the printed magazines are published in the UK. Interestingly, there are magazines dedicated to Canon and Nikon users (to clarify, one magazine per brand).

I counted the preferences, color v. B/W: So far, there are 6 votes for the B/W version and 3 votes for the color version (I have only counted votes that showed a clear preference for one version or the other).

I prefer the second one if the exposure/brightness were dealt with.

thx. As I stated, the exposure issues are due to viewing the images on a very overbright monitor; on a calibrated monitor the exposures are the way I wanted.

There is a lot to like in both the color, and the black and white, once some corrections are applied. The B/W is very nice so I would choose it without much hesitation.

thx

I prefer the b&w and others are already pointing you at the processing possibilities. The pointed rocks at the top I find particularly interesting, looking like caped figures. Think I'd like to see them brought out.

thx

I agree completely. The b/w is Adamsesque with a few tweaks, mostly in the direction of increasing contrast and deepening low zones, at least IMHO...
