All of these photos were taken this week. On the east coast of North Carolina. So somethings live and somethings die. I love the bee photo. Also the first photo reminds me of fall in Illinois where I grew up.
Another wildflower that I find on the forest floor is the Moccasin flower or in these pictures it is often called a pink Ladies Slipper. I find these flowers in June. In each picture you can see a twig of Spruce needles thus documenting the setting in a forested area.
Another one I haven't found where I live. Very nice, Fred Ann!
I have a wild flower that thrives on the forest floor. Indian Pipes are lacking in chlorophyll and this accounts for its whitish appearance. This flowering plant gets it nourishment mainly from decaying roots of trees, instead of from sunlight. I usually find these flowers every year late in July or early August. However, when I looked this year I did not find any. They are commonly called Indian Pipes, Ghost Flower or do the Ice Plant.
Beautiful, Fred Ann! I've never found any of these where I live.
Love the topic, Z, didn't know the word Understudy so I appreciated the description! Have always been interested in the many species, however , and have a huge stock of them to share! Thanks for the
enlightenment and Challenge!
Lovely, Judy! I look forward to everything you will be sharing!
