We also are dealing with issues, like Malkin.

A few years back, my wife and I were at the Finger Lakes. We called a local brewpub and asked if the playoff game (Pens v Wings) would be on a tv there at the bar. When we arrived, the bartender informed us that there is usually a couple, formerly from Detroit, that watches the games there because they don't even own a tv. Sure enough, they showed up sitting next to us. By all of our attires, there was no guessing who everyone was cheering for. This is not an issue for us, as sports and beer were all about having fun to us. I introduce us, we talk, I even buy a round of beers. They were a nice couple, although quite subdued as the Pens were in charge most of the time. Their personalities switched with the momentum of the game. The Wings came back and won, and they had become quite rude.

It's not like I needed another reason to hate the Wings.

They will both take any EF or EF-S lens that Canon makes. A huge choice. The EF-S 18-55mm and EF-S 55-250mm are very popular with the Rebels and do a very good job. Don't know about the T5i or 60D prices, but you would have no trouble getting a T3i and both lenses for well under $1000. Don't discount the T3i. It is still in production because of it's popularity. It's successor, the T4i isn't.

Correct. The T4i was the first generation of a new DIGIC 5 processor, and they had issues with it. The T5i has the same processor, so I'm guessing they fixed the issue???

The T3i is almost identical to my T2i. The T2i has been awesome, and is still my workhorse. I save the 7D for when I need speed. The processor in the T3i is the same as the 7D. I'm thinking of getting one, all my accessories like the battery grip, can be used on it.

I pushed a lot of people towards this camera around the holidays. B&H had it with the 18-55 + the 55-250 for $499. Now the T3i with just the 18-55 is $599.

Thanx for looking. Can you picture civil war soldiers standing in these images? I told a friend I'd take some shots of some reenactors. I have a set of steps for this process and I'm trying to figure out which order to do them in. Thanks again.

Actually, this should be titled "Now as Then". This is part of an old homestead and distillery circa 1859 in Scottdale, PA. It's strange trying to make an image look dull, distorted, and damaged after all these years of striving for sharpness.

Apparently the grown ups screwed up big time the last two Presidential elections. Next time let's elect someone who can handle the job.

You have it all wrong. It's the libs that vote depending on skin color, gender and other meaningless things. They haven't found their perfect canidate yet (a half black, half hispanic, draft dodging hermaphrodite) so Billary will do for now.

I prefer the first.

This is what I Would do:

Crop a little from top and bottom, and right side. Then, in LR with an exposure brush, I would lighten the ship, dock and sand. I think it's a little too bright in the HDR.

There's the problem. You people vote depending on skin color and gender. Us grown ups vote on substance.

I am aware of the differences between a pan head and ball head mount. However, a gimbal head mount is a new concept for me. I did a search here but did not see the answer to my question: can the gimbal be a replacement for the other two mounts, or is each type required for specific purposes? A head that fulfills all category uses would be convenient and cost efficient.

The gimbal heads are usually used for large/heavy lenses and equipment. The nice thing about them is the balance. You can let go of your equipment or even walk away, and know that it will be safe. Also, there is nothing better you can use for following/panning you subjects.

This was a neat find. I found it one day while working, returned the next night to photograph it and someone had already taken a large rock and thrown it through the bars to break some of the ice. It was still cool. It's an old coal tunnel near the town of Tunneltown, Pa. I climbed as high as I could and flashed a powerful spotlight down the tunnel. The ice was formed just like this as far back as the light reached. I was there a couple of hours and heard some powerful crashes coming from inside the tunnel. There was a lot more ice hanging from the ceiling the further back it went.

This was a combo of some golden evening light coming in and hitting the ceiling, some light painting, and a very slight touch of HDR.

Sorry, a bit off subject. Does anyone know why many places don't carry the T4i? I think it was the first incarnation of the digic 5 image processor, and remember hearing reports of some issues with it.

I don't think #3 was bad, you didn't have to remove it.
