Welcome to Day 47 :) Today we are going to take a look at Negative Space. It is described as anything in the background that is not the focus of the photograph. So how much Negative Space is too much? How much attention do you pay to Negative Space when you crop ?
The following examples are in response to both questions.
Have you ever noticed how much negative space we actually have in photos ?
Generally we have Negative Space when there is only 1 subject ... I know I have a lot of it LOL ... let's see some of yours.

I find I use a lot of black or shadow as negative space to isolate the subject.

In this pic, the negative space becomes the subject.

Here the negative space comingles with the subject.

Hall of Justice? From the Super friends?

Bingo. This is Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio, one of Cincinnati's art deco buildings, now the museum center. Built in 1931, the art deco style made the perfect "hall of justice. Good job, Steve.

Welcome to Day 41 :)
First and most important I want to say Happy Birthday to Sherrie. I'm proud to call you a friend :)
For the challenge today I wanted to do a little something different. They say eyes are the windows to the soul. When you are walking around with your camera do you ever get the feeling someone is watching you ? Who is watching you watch them ?
Here are a few examples of who watches me.

Welcome to Day 40 .... Something we haven't done yet is Water. Water of any kind. Doesn't have to be a fabulous lake ... or river ... it can be as simple as a water fountain, small creek .. or even a mud puddle LOL.
As you know I couldn't get out and shoot anything yesterday so these are all from the archives mainly from where I go hiking. My plan .. if I can manage is to go to the park locally and do a long exposure on the small waterfall. ... wish me luck !
Here are some not so great examples to get us started.

Thanks red baron. Speaking of passing vehicles, I was noticing a while back that after merging 3 bracketed images of an old house, that there was a car on the street that was passing by, and got caught by one of the three shots. It appears transparent. I thought it was kinda cool looking, wondering what kind of trick photography might be developed with this technique. I have attached the HDR photo.
