How about the effect of statics? No mention about it. If it is an issue, you will need an anti-static gun to shoot the sensor first.

Seems a good way for travelling (carry a phone and tablet). Do you or how to deal with the SD card reader? You still need a separate one?

I have had no problem to get in out from my Sony, but find it is tighter than a comparable Sandisk card. I think the Sony Tough G card is slight thicker. I have a separate question: when comparing Sandisk and Sony, both 300 mB/sec (the max read speed) card, it appears to me the Sandisk's write speed is slightly higher. Any experience from anyone?

Place a piece of black electrical tape over the "LEICA" when taking it to questionable areas. You know it is a LEICA, you just don't want a potential thief to know it. Also, invest in a thief-proof neck strap so that you don't become a victim of "cut-and-run". You can thank me later.😜

What exactly is a thief-proof neck strap? Any specific brand or just generic term?

One time a camera shop person told me, yes same sensor and same lens, but pictures coming out different between the two, probably the processing software inside is different. Any truth? I don't know.

4 years ago i bought a fotodiox adapter to use older pentax lenses on nikon .[ d300] .The issue i had was that out in sun lit day , even with sun in back , i ended with a donut shape ring light spot on some pictures . So to solve that i bought a 6 mp pentax camera used [ like new ] from japan . [ ist D ].

I looked into this issue a few years back. I think the pro version gives better fit and better accuracy on infinity focusing point.

Smart phones are nipping at dslrs and mirrorless cameras continuity. Smart phones have the advantage of being pocketable, convenient, it can share photos easier and are able to take fairly decent photos. I have my phone with me all the time so I have a camera with me all the time. I have one that's a couple of years old Samsung S10. Sometimes I have my 850 but it is not pocketable or convenient but it takes better pictures than my smart phone.
A long time ago my grand daughter wanted a camera. She was ten or eleven. I bought her a smart phone. She was really excited. A couple of years later she wanted a real camera. I bought her a Nikon d3100 and some books. Then I had the fun of teaching her a little about photography. Whenever I saw her she had her camera with her in a carrier that she had made. She was about fifteen or so. More years went by. Every once in a while a would see a photo of hers in a the Dallas Magazine and Cowboys and Indians. She has graduated from college, owns an art studio in Dallas and doing very well. The other day she showed me her new camera, a Z9 and started telling me what it can do with the same excitement she had with that 3100, big smiles and jumping around on her toes. She still uses the same smart phone I bought her ten years ago. She says, "It's a phone grandpa not a real camera." She has found the excitement of photography.

I have an old (but in top shape) EUMIG 614D standard and super 8 projector. Not sure it has sound as far as I can see.

Few days ago I attached a Panasonic dedicated flash (it probably has a defectively contact circuitry) to my G9 and it did not work properly (erratic firing). After I detached the flash gun, I found some menu functions were brown out and could not be set as usual, e.g. the sound was off and could not be turned on, the shutter was stuck at electronic ..... It appears to me the flash gun probably played havoc to the G9 settings (hoping not cause any damage).
I am wondering to do a reset would correct this weird conditions (even though it means I need to reset the menu functions from start after that).
Need some suggestions from fellow users. Thanks.
