I'm with Old Hippy here, their facial expressions look more indignant than curious.

If it weren't for profits, most drugs wouldn't exist.

Also, if it weren't for profits, most people on this forum would never have earned enough money to own a camera. Curious how nobody complains about unfair profits and then proceeds to start a non-profit corporation to develop a v*****e, out of the goodness of their heart of course. I guess profits are only filthy when they're earned by people you don't know, and scientists and engineers should all be forced to work for free, or something. I used to be a liberal.

If I remember correctly, Perry uses AF-C most of the time because he is a wildlife photographer and does not want to miss a shot changing from AF-S to -C. I leave mine in -S most of the time because of the type of photos I take most. However, if I am concerned about action I will move to -C. If I am in error, I apologize in advance.

You're not exactly in error, but you did miss the point (as did many others, you're in good company) of the BBF setup as described in Steve Perry's book.
The point was that after you have your camera set up for BBF, you can use the camera as single focus (release the rear AF button to lock focus, then press the shutter button) or as continuous focus (keep the rear AF button pressed as you press the shutter button) WITHOUT CHANGING ANY SETTINGS on the camera. Sorry for shouting.

What is Servo mode?

In Nikonese you might say AF-C (a.k.a. Continuous-servo AF mode)

How do you know they are not handicapped?
Also if you can return the cart if NOT in a handicapped space what makes it different in your handicap if you are in a handicapped space?

Because no handicapped placard hanging from their rear-view mirror? It's really pretty simple. I learned to notice things like that very quickly while I was using a handicapped placard for three months after a ski accident put me into a wheelchair. Able-bodied people that park in handicapped spaces are barbarians!

Interesting tidbit: One of the members of Led Zeppelin mentioned a name and one said "that would go over like a lead balloon". Hence the name Led Zep. The name was the group that was unforming and Jimmy Page was in just before forming Zep. Jeff Beck was also in it

Are you talking about the Yardbirds?

Anyway, the first time I heard about lead balloons was from my parents when I was a wee tyke in the late 50's.

My apologies, I've never actually seen one. Just thought that it was a standard. Must have been talking of of my... ignorance.

Would be easier for both of us if Manfrotto did use the Arca Swiss standard, and I think a lot of people wish they did.

I think RRS is all the same arca swiss standard that Manfrotto and everyone else uses.

??? I don't think Manfrotto uses any Arca Swiss standard quick release hardware, at least not any Manfrotto stuff I own.

I was born in the 50's and I like this new math! I feel soooo much younger.

Me too!

Where in Philly? I ask because I'm originally from Olney (feels like a hundred years ago, new math indeed).

Sadly we don't have the pink '56 DeSoto anymore. I think it went through 3 transmissions and about 6 sets of brakes while we had it, and it was truly fast.

This was a surprisingly fun topic. Hope the OP is happy the way it turned out.

If it was 1960 and the photographer was 10, he or she would be 60 today.

70, not 60 or 90.

I was thinking about 58. With a full restoration those are worth a small fortune (Well over $100,000) today. It could also be a Chrysler. Look at the pinkish color. I had a 58 De Soto with that color.

My mother learned how to drive in a pink & white '56 DeSoto (with a 354 Hemi, I still remember her taking corners on 2 wheels, not on purpose, but we all lived). Anyway, I remember what all the Chryslers And DeSotos looked like from then, and it's a Cadillac. It was probably already worth a fortune when that photo was taken.

Question regarding the Skytrain. What determined whether this type of aircraft was denominated a DC-3 or C-47?

If you bought one from Douglas, it would be a DC-3. When the Army Air Corp bought them, they were the C-47, and the Navy named theirs the R4D, but since around 1960 the Air Force and Navy had to use the same nomenclature system for aircraft.

I'd like to go mirrorless in the men's room. I'm tired of trying to figure out who's the old dude I don't recognize staring at me through the wall.

Take your glasses off, you gotta be pretty far gone if you need them to wash your hands (and I'm not there yet). That gets rid of most of the problem.

What is a nice way to tell loved ones no more camera shop gift cards for birthday or Christmas? It's like giving a kid with a credit card a quarter to go to the candy store.
It usually costs me double or more of the face value of the card

There's no nice way. You're complaining too much.
