Beautiful capture and PP! What settings did you use to capture the marvelous depth of field on your D850?

These wolves were photographed at the Discovery Center in West Yellowstone and I had to shoot through glass. Even so, I thought they were pretty good and certainly better than the ones I saw in Yellowstone at a mile or so distance. I did however hear the wolves howling a couple of time at rather close distance but out of sight. I hope you enjoy and thanks for viewing.

Excellent set, Dan! Such magnificent animals.

[quote=Maureen Farrell]Hi - I am new to this forum. Also, I am relatively new to using a real camera for photography. I have used relatively cheap point-and-shoot and cell phone cameras for years. I jumped into the deep end of the pool with the purchase of a slightly used Nikon Z6ii (thank you KEH). I am very excited about learning to use this amazing piece of equipment. Does anyone have any advice for a novice to get up to speed quickly? And thanks in advance![/quote

Maureen, welcome to the forum. Use the manual and Darrell Young’s book(my favorite how to writer) to help get you get started. Also take advantage of you tube presentations on your new camera. Have fun and get into a photography club that offers field trips and formal presentations that can help. I wish you well in your new adventure.

It's a fun morning when you look out your living room window and spot a Great Blue Heron. (3/28/22)

Even more fun when he tells you...."OK....go get your camera, I'll wait!"

Excellent series. Beautiful bird and great sharp detail in exposures.
