New to flash use and in need to cover church event next Saturday. It would be noon mass with natural light coming through but I would like to fill the shadows.

Is there a basic setting to start, for example F8, 1/125 sec and ISO 200?
How do I set the flash ?
If I set Canon 6d to full auto what kind of setting for the YONGNUO YN568EX II ?

Thank you

Hello Gene51,

Your system seems to be very throughly and with 200.000 pictures to back it up I could only say congratulations!
It will take me some time to digest and familiarize with your system and I only have 2000 pictures that deserves to be kept.
I really appreciate your time and efforts and I will save your system to be use in a near future.

Best regards,

Georgez

To all many thanks and hello mborn

I'll start with the simplest idea since I am new to LR and for that matter to any filing system.
Mborn if I follow your instructions means that I have to manually name every pic that I transfer to "snow" file?
Or LR will "automatically" rename them? (that should be ideal)

And an added question "could that be that a mistake in renaming some other pictures have cause that now LR can't find them"?
I am afraid to misplace more pics and won't be able to find them.

Best regards,

Georgez

Hello,
I shot Canon 6d and download everything in one file that I call "AllPics"
There I select, delete and group the different shots.
Now I have ended up with, for example, 25 shots that should go into "snow"
That file already contain pictures from last winter.

How can I transfer those new 25 shot in a orderly way and have them file like snow001, snow002, 003 and so on?

Thank you for your help.

Hello Forum!
It seem to be an easy problem but I don't how to fix it.
I am working with LR 6 and I Mac and imported a file "lights" to the wrong destination "documents"
I have saved all my other pics into an external hard drive and I want "lights" to be there and be able to edit it with LR.
I try different ways to no avail.
I still have the original pics in the card memory but LR refuses to importe them again (the don't even show up)

I really appreciate any help.

Hello Gene51,
Thank you for clarifiyng the situation anywayys.
When you said "shutter speed shorter than 1/125 sec you mean 1/60 sec or 1/500 sec? Sorry but I am in the process of learning Photography and English.
Kendo is a Japanese discipline that is slow and harmonious, not fast tracks here.
I have a continuos LCD small light (from my video's days) and was planning to use it on top of the camera. What do you think? Do fluorescent and LCD light mix well?

Best regards,

Jorge Z.

Hello everybody,
I have been reading this Forum for awhile but it is the first time that I consult it.
Next week I have a self-assign shoting in a basketball court of some Kendo players.
They all dress in black and the fluorescent lights are very high in the roof and no additional lights are available.
What will be the best way to get some contrast in their faces, without using flash, with my very brand new Canon 6D and its 24-105 mm f4 lens.
Thank you guys!!!

George
