Thanks to all of you. I have downloaded and installed the new software but haven't had time to try it out yet. I used Paint Shop Pro to convert the three files I wanted to send to my friend, so I got that accomplished.

Thanks for the update about Nikon's software.

New D7200. Downloaded Raw files to my computer. Tried to make a jpeg copy of one for a friend. Got message that it was an unsupported file type. Downloaded and installed the latest 64-bit version. Same error message. Tried several other files - same error. What's going on?

Thanks to all for your opinions. I was kind of leaning toward my third option in the first place, but wanted opinions to either confirm or refute that leaning. After reading all the opinions and doing some searching on the internet, I've decided that's the way I'll go, since it won't break my piggy bank.

Thanks for your replies. That's the reason I posted - I want opinions as to why I should do one or the other of my options.

I’m seriously considering getting a second camera. Too often I have the wrong lens on for the picture and don’t have time to change to the right one. For example: while whale watching in Alaska I was shooting with a telephoto because the whales were not close when one suddenly surfaced right next to the boat. I needed a super wide angle to get more than just parts of the whale.

My problem is trying to decide which option to go with. I have a Nikon D7000 and I have the lenses I need. One option is to get a refurbished D7000. Then I would have two identical cameras.

Another option is to get a refurbished D7200, which I understand has several improvements over the 7000. But then I have two different models of cameras and I don’t know if the differences would cause me any problems or awkwardness.

The third options is to get two refurbished D7200s and sell my D7000. I know that is the best option in many ways, but would cost more (which I could probably afford), but I don’t like to spend a lot of money that I don’t need to.

My question to those familiar with these two cameras, what are the pros and cons of each of my options and are the improvements in the D7200 worth my spending the extra money to go with the third option?

I know some will say I have to make my own choice (which I will) but I’d like to know more about my choices before I make up my mind.

There are many times I miss my old Exacta. It had a waist level type viewer that I could use to sit the camera on the ground and see what I was photographing by looking down at it. Is there some kind of adapter that would fit on my Nikon that would allow me to do that?

I finally figured it out. I switched the release -mode dial back to S and then went back to self-timer. Before, the dial must have hung up on quiet shutter-release.

I have a D7000. I have it set up for BBF. I just discovered that the self-timer doesn't work. Is there some method to get it to work or will I have to cancel BBF? In P mode - which I use a lot - it doesn't do anything when I press the shutter release. In Auto mode, it immediately takes a picture when I press the shutter button.

That's got to be some variety of day lily. The color doesn't match any that I have (not quite) so I don't know which variety.

WERE is correct. The IF makes it so. WAS would be incorrect.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I felt the same way.I also agree with Bill_de about lightening the right side.
