Ron, excellent set. Rather than "dang it", maybe he is blaming you for spooking his targets.

I used my AC powered blind (truck) to stay cool when I went to the market. When I returned I drove up to the bush to capture this set. I used my Canon R5 and Canon RF 70-200 L lens, hand held. ALL C&C is welcome and the details will be with each photo. Thank you for taking the time to view my efforts.

This fly in the flower had caught my eye, and I wasn't using a lens known for its closeup capabilities. This was an Olympus EM5ii with the economy version of the 40-150mm lens. So this was shot at 150mm at f5.6 and was about as close as the lens would permit.

First image is the original. Second image is after using Gigapixel AI at 6x. Maybe not as good as my macro lens could have done, but perhaps if I had been closer, the fly would have flown away.

One thing to think about using Topaz Gigapixel at 6x is that the software had to create 35 new pixels for every 1 existing pixel in the original. I used the Gigapixel Very Compressed Model (which often seems to be too harsh, but for this image, it wasn't) and I used the Auto Settings.

More of my 600mm close-ups.

Well the early nesters now have immature young as big as they are.

#1 Mature male (through double pane glass)
Canon 80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/3200 @ f/6.3, ISO-2500

#2 Mature female (different feeder back in early spring)
Canon 80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/1000 @ f/6.3, ISO-1600

#3 Immature male just developing the "bib" and dark wings that define the "hood"
Canon 80D, Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600, 1/4000 @ f/6.3, ISO-2000

And now that our So. Cal. summer is well started and below 90°F is a chilly day more of my shots will be through glass. The AC works too hard to make it livable inside to ruin it by opening the slider to take pictures. Well if something really good shows up, maybe for a few minutes. But if the pool and water are melting, NO! I do need to get the new mister up over the bird bath. I got one that with the water turned on is supposed to use only 1/2 gal of water an hour. Even if I run it 6-8 hours a day I use more than that washing my hands several times a day. (Wife is retired Surgical RN - you will wash your hands!!! Long and often.) I'll test it and then maybe put up a frame around the biggest bird bath and have one on each side of it or build a picnic table size frame with roof and move the potted plants under it and have one on each corner with a water dish under each. Cool the birds, keep the water dish filled and water the potted plants all at once. If I have the yard guy rip out a lot of the grass and replace with desert wild flowers etc. I can cut out most of the watering for the yard and end up using less water even with the misters going.
