Yes, and that's a ridiculous situation. I have an old camcorder that loses the date if the external battery is removed. I can charge the battery when it's attached, and I generally know the current date.

I don't care about date and time but the internal battery when it goes bad it keep draining power off the main battery and thus your battery is running down even when you have the camera off.

I just recently (maybe 2 months ago) reinstalled my Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 on my old Win10 machine successfully using the old key.

I can reinstall my copy of CS2 anytime I want to but these much older software only need a key and not an activation server. I think CS5 and CS6 won't work with simply a key code.

Why don't you post them here?

I tried to see if generics lasted as long as OEM Nikon batteries -- not possible. First, it would require shooting the exact scene or target with all batteries fully charged and recording the results. In the field, there are so many variables it just isn't possible. For the trip later this month, I'm just going to take 10 batteries and keep six of them on me at all times.

It's funny how we bemoan having to change a battery after only 200 - 250 shots but we never thought anything about having to field strip a camera to put in a new roll of film after only 12 to 36 shots -- and that was much more involved than switching out a battery.

So far, I like Neewer, Watson, Kastar, and Wasabi batteries. I would rate all of these to give 80% to 100% of the shots I get from OEM batteries. Am I going to get all flustered because I only got 220 shots from a battery when others might give me 250? ------ No, I'm just going to remember film days when I had to stop every little bit to switch out a roll of film!

Even if you do a scientific test that is connect the batteries to a controlled load and measure the current and voltage and record them as the batteries discharge you wouldn't know for sure either. Batteries perform differently at different discharge rates.

Congratulations. That means you earned a lot more money than you thought you were going to earn. Hard to complain about that.

I am not complaining just wonder if I had to pay any penalty. Turbo tax may figure the penalty and put it in the amount I owed. So I paid it. It's OK but I don't know there was any penalty amount in that total that I paid.

I keep a spreadsheet with all my program installation keys so I can easily find things. When I get a new key I take the old spreadsheet, add the key, and change the spreadsheet file name by adding the date. So I know which is the current spreadsheet.

Key isn't a problem it's the newer software tends to require an activation server on the web and the software companies do not keep them available for old version of their software. I think now if you do a clean install on a PC that has PS CS6 running you can't reinstall PS CS6 any more.

Get a cable made by Apple, male USB-C to plug into the phone and female USB to plug into the PC. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to the iPhone device. Your photos will be in the DCIM folder. If this doesn’t work you may have faulty USB port device driver on your PC. A workaround is to get Drop Box or a similar app to transfer your photos from phone to PC. Windows One-Drive works well too. I find it easier to use than Drop Box.

I don't think the Iphone 14 has a USB-C port. It has a "Lightning" port. The Iphone 15 has USB-C port.

I've also been doing that for 15 years. Sometimes I receive a refund, sometimes I pay what I owe. I always have estimated quarterly payments for the next year. It works for me.

I just paid what I owed (I always owed money in the past 15 years or so) but recent years I owed a lot and I don't know if I had to pay any penalty (that is turbo tax figured out the penalty and told me to pay). I owed almost $8000 for the year 2023.

If the battery expands, get rid of it. I had one expand in an iPod, and it popped it open. Lithium batteries are dangerous, so don't mess around with them.

If I'm using a camera on and off, I leave the batteries in it. Cameras that are "put away" till later are battery-less.

I do not remove battery from camera because I don't want the internal battery to be depleted. If the internal battery is depleted for a long time it may go dead and not taking a charge. So when you install the main battery the main battery would charge it but since it's bad it never gets full and drains your main battery. To replace this internal battery you have to send it back to the manufacturer to get it done. It's expensive and if your camera is old enough they wouldn't even do it. Some high end camera this battery can be replaced by the user.

Besides, if one puts any and subsequent refunds in an account, any interest is only delayed (offset) by one year.
One would not loose the interest EVERY year.
It would simply be offset by one year.
But few realize that.
They look at it as loosing the interest every year.

Perception.......

I keep a larger amount of my money in savings account and the interest is very little. If you put it in a CD you get more but if your money is tight by the time you file the tax your CD may not be matured yet.

After entering everything, the standard deduction worked out the best...
For years now.
The "interest for a year on our over-payment" is laughable.

Yeah my proprerty tax and medical expenses while quite a bit is not enough to deduct.

Back in the old days resinstalling programs isn't much of a problem although it does take time. Today re-activate license is a problem especially for older software. I still use Office 2010 and while I can still activate it, it's not easy. Older software from Adobe like Photoshop CS5 or CS6 would have problem to re-activate. I have a copy of Office 2019 and to activate it I have to sign in to Microsoft account which associated with the email I had when I was still working. It's a tough one for me.

What is funny is while I’m required by networks and studios to deliver at higher bit rates and 4K or above, a lot of broadcast is still showing media at 1080p.

Which broadcast is showing media above 1080p? I think today broadcast is still pretty much 1080i although ATSC-3 allows them to broadcast in 4K very few stations do that.

I did not find that to be the case. My experience is that the French have the deepest respect and appreciation for what the allies did to save them from the Nazis.

I found that the US did too much for the French. After saving them from Germany, the US let the French went back and occupied Vietnam again and that's how the war started. If the US didn't let the French went back and let Vietnam be independence they would not be a communist country and there would be no war.
