I still liked it better the way is was. If you didn't want to look at a particular section, birds or flowers for instance, you didn't have to open it. The way it is now, I may look at just one section, and say the heck with the rest of them.

Our 16 year old granddaughter has requested some kind of digital camera for Christmas, she wants one that is lightweight but still has ISO/aperture/shutter speed controls. It should accept filters but does not necessarily need to support interchangeable lenses, but a step up from iPhone or point-and-shoot cameras. (I think lightweight is a key consideration.)

One that she suggested is the NEZINI 4K digital camera, not a brand I am familiar with.

Any suggestions?

I have a D5000 I no longer need as I have upgraded to the D7100. It includes everythng she will need until she is ready to spend a lot of money. It includes the case, another lens, filters, manual, and more. I'm going to try to add photos of the entire package below. $300 for everything + shipping. I think this would be a great starter camera.

Shootg me an email if interested. joedash7@gmail.com

For what it's worth, here are my thoughts. I'm thinking the gravity would be stronger. Why? The surface of the ocean floor is lower than the surrounding area, and the sea level is also lower. To me, that would indicate the gravity is much stronger than the surrounding area and ocean floor and surface has been pulled downward due to that higher force. It just seems to me that a lower gravity area would allow the sea level to be higher, not lower.

Now I don't have a submarine from which to take measurements. but think about this. If you are in a Submarine, what are you using to base your measurements on? Depth? If the sea level has changed, how do you know that if you are at a constant depth based on pressure? There is no way that I'm aware of to measure your distance from the center of the earth.

Any other like thoughts out there?

What happened?
I have been taking photos on my cell phone (a Samsung J-21?) for quite awhile, and downloading them to my computer. Then I have processed them in Facebook and emailed them to friends. I just did this about two weeks ago with no problems. Last Sunday I went to a friends retirement party and did not take my Nikon, so my cell phone was pressed into service.
When I got home I attempted to download them for processing so I could send them to my friend. I was able to get one photo that I could process and saved it as a .jpg. My computer was trying to download all of the photos on my phone and then stopped , saying it could not download them and to reconnect my phone. What I could see was they were showing up as .heic files. I have not changed any setting in my phone or computer, so why or how did this happen. Now I cannot download any photos from my phone.
HELP!

I for one, don't like the "new format". If I'm looking for a particular area or subject, I have to scroll through the entire list to locate something I may be interested in. Imagin a dictionary that is not in alphabetical order. It would basically be worthless. If I'm not interested in birds or flowers, I could just pass over them when they were listed under a grouping.

Please, let's keep photos or discussion areas in separate listings by topics.

Thanks for considering this.

I have never seen a drum like that, but it appears to work on the same principal as Steel Drums from the Caribbean. Depending on where it is struck,, you get a different tone. Jimmy Buffet used to almost always have one in his band.

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the 'apex predator', can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and 'survival of the pack mentality' bred into the canines.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine. Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.
