Try lugging around the D810 with the 70-200 f/2.8 and being 68 with arthritic hands. No fun. Takes all the enjoyment out of photography. Nothing wrong with the d810 except too large and big. Go mirrorless
Abe's.l all your gear and go mirrorless. That is the future. All you old dslr experts should
Look ahead and not stay on the past. Go to most forums. Mirrorless is the most popular topic.
Sell your current setup and buy the A6300 or a6000 with the 16-70 f/4 lens. The future is mirrorless
I use it as a plugin to LR. Great addition and very helpful
I would go for the a6000 or a6300. About 6 months ago, I went mirror less and sold all my Nikon gear. At 68, used to travel with the D810 and holy trinity. Way to heavy. Sell your current gear and switch to Sony mirrorless. You will not regret it.
I always travel with my MacBook Pro. I normally do not work in LR while traveling. Do not shoot in jpeg. Not necessary. Only RAW. i download the photos late at night before going to sleep. Have been on lots of photo workshops. Use Muench Workshops. They are great. You are on overkill. Keep shooting and enjoy
Hi David
No answer is correct. We all are creatures of habit. What I do is download my daily photos to an external drive and also keep them on my sd card. In that way I have two copies. I then download to LR and start to rate them. I keep them all in LR and then rate them with either 0, 1 or 2 stars. I work with the 1 stars and then decide if I want to publish. If I do, those are given 2 stars.
Hope this helps
Perfect Zeiss 16-70 f/4 Mirrorless Lens. Perfect everyday lens for Sony 6000, 6300 and 6500. Have two of these and do not need two. Bought on Oct 13, 2016 from B&H. Quick sale at $700. Includes shipping but not 3% paypal. Only used once. Great lens.
I have the Sony a7II 24 MP. What do you think versus the a7rii? Am on the fence?
Besides the 24 versus 42 megapixel difference, is it worth getting the 7rii or just keep on using my 7r?
Call Precision Camera and Repair in Enfield CT. They service Sony. Very good Company
I am not heavy and very fit at 68. I travel around the world taking pictures and could not drag my heavy Nikon and lenses around anymore
Two big fallacies that exist today
1) The bigger the camera the better
2) Full Frame is always better than Crop - The only reason why I have a full frame Sony is I like the layout of the settings better. The A6300 is a great camera. I do not see any difference between the crop and full frame
People who have the heavy monsters do not travel with them as much as I do. The monsters took the joy of photography out of me and my pictures suffered. Not anymore
Switch systems to Sony mirror less. I just sold all my Nikon stuff. Had the D810 and holy trinity. Am now shooting with the future. Sony A6300 and Sony 7R and enjoying it again
The gear does not make the photographer. Whatever gear gives you the most enjoyment is the best for you
