I finally got around to trying out highlight metering and so far, so good.

The timing was just perfect to capture the effect of the sunrise. Excellent. Fog certainly adds a lot.

I've been creating a few panoramas from Amsterdam to Lucerne from my recent trip. Here is a follow up to the one I posted a couple of days ago from Amsterdam. It was taken at ISO 64 at F8, 1/80 second. Nikon Z7II and a Nikon 24-120 F4 lens at 77MM and 12 images stitched together. It was handheld. I use a tripod when at home for panos but I find it difficult to take a tripod on the Viking cruises due to lack of time to really set up, so I do my best hand holding. I think it's not that difficult with proper technique to get a good image. I made the final image 27 inches across.

I came across this on YouTube, and I was absolutely amazed at all the work that goes into make a model train. I can understand why so many products are made in China. There is a lot of specialized equipment required, and they have it. If an American company want to build these models, it would cost them millions just to get started.

They had to make 7,000 copper electrodes to produce the molds for this one model. This shows how Scale Trains, a company in TN, goes from design to final production. It's fascinating.

KT, but I still miss seeing all your early auto photos, especially the ones from the 1950s.

They look like mini crows to me. I like them in small numbers.

Excellent. Let me know if Rodan shows up. For those of us who remember sci-fi movies from the 1950s we know about Rodan.

This little lake has intrigued me since living here. It’s really a storm water reserve, but I went for a walk today & with calm weather, the reflections & bush around it, it caught my eye so out with the IPhone camera.
Thought I’d share it. No big deal but I like it.

Nice !! I like this

Gorgeous car. I owned a 1956 Chevrolet one time. It was a station wagon.

Same here - I also owned a black & white '56 Chevy sedan but my favorite is still a '57 Chevy.

I saw a review of a new sander from 3M. It's a plug-in random orbital sander of commercial quality. It's called the Xtractor. It's in very limited supply now, but it's supposedly excellent - for $389. I don't do enough sanding to justify the cost, but it looks like a beauty.

Same here - I am close to 80 and my sanding days are over. However, this does look like a beauty of a sander.
