Superb reportage... Such wonderful charismatic event... So much synergy amongst the contestants...
Loving the wardrobe styling! What a fabulous event for an Event Shooter!

Ok so I took the time to read through the Alafia Rules which state...
"Cameras should be kept out of sight as much as possible. They should not be carried exposed, but brought out for the photo op, then returned to cover as quickly as possible...

I assume you had "Credentials" from the the Booshway to cover this event?

I certainly appreciate your efforts here...
Totally naive on this genre, looks to be a joyful bunch engaged in serious period "Theater"

Thank you so much for sharing roxiemarty...
Splendid collection of intriguing imagery...
All the best on your photographic journey :)
Superb reportage... Such wonderful charismatic eve... (show quote)

I am a participant for about 20 years.........I carry my DSLR in a basket, covered with a cloth. I pull it out for the photos, then put back in the basket. Thank you for the compliments. That means a great deal to me.

In my opinion.......Mykonos has the best Greek food. For breakfast, I heartily recommend a small cafe downtown....away from the sponge docks. Toula's was amazing. We ate there several times. It is on the trail. Toula's Trailside Cafe, it was called.

Good work Roxie. I almost went to this event but couldn't get myself in gear Saturday morning. I am about 90 minutes away in Ellenton. Maybe next year.

Don
I hope you can make it next year.........I hope to be there. The last Friday and Saturday of the Rendezvous are public days.

These are a few of the people that participated in a living history event near Bartow, Florida. It is one of the largest pre 1840 Rendezvous in the country. I have been a participant for 20 years. The first batch will be from the Lady's Tea. So almost all women, except for the doorman and musician.

You really nailed the exposure on the Lantern festival!

Thank you! I used a tripod and off camera shutter release.

Two of my favorite things that I photographed this year was :
1. Last month, I went to the Lantern Festival at our local zoo. It was one of the most amazing things I've been to lately!
2. We went to the National park in Tucson Arizona, and I got to see the Saguaros. Amazing!

I have learned quite a bit from all of you here on this little challenge but my favorite was an inspirationsl suggestion by one of our long time members here on the ugly hedgehog. It went a little something like this..."when creative inspiration wanes or you have no idea what to do next.... shoot a stump!" As a matter of fact when we met up in FL once he showed me his. it was pretty inspirational if I do say so my self. So I've looked for mine.

Good advice.............

I never knew hummers loved bird baths and fountains. My husband bought this solar fountain to attract the hummers. Only 2-3 times did I see hummers in the bath - and these were the only shots I got. Not the best, but I have proof they will drink from the fountain.

That first shot!!! I love how it shows the ruby throat pattern!
