You mention the 16-50 SSM. The Sony site only shows this as a DT lens which I understand is for crop sensors. Is this correct? I would like to get full frame lenses since I plan to get the 850/900. Also my wife's new a6000 has a 16-50 kit lens. Is this supposed to be a good lens?

Maybe I will be the first for 2015. Sony a100 and a350. Also a HX300. Lots of Minolta glass. Would like to upgrade to a850/900 and/Minolta G lenses. Any comments on the G lenses?

Forgive me folks, I am old and not the brightest star to begin with. But as I see it the monitor size is where it's at. If you shot with a 100mm lens with a FF at a house that completely filled the monitor screen. Then shot with the same settings with the crop, and put that picture on a monitor that was 2/3 or 3/4's the size of your regular monitor and the two monitors were setting beside each other. The windows, doors, bricks etc. would be the same size as on your regular monitor, but you would only see 2/3's of the house, but when you put the crop pic on your regular monitor it would be as if you shot with a 150mm FF lense?

Check with your hotel, when we were there the hotel had a van that took us to the ruins. There were 6 in our group, the driver was very accomadating and drove us thru some small towns, stopped at the local church for pics and took us to some local points of interest for no extra charge.

I would disconnect that capacitor and take it by a motor shop, they should check it for free. Or if you can find an analog meter, with the capacitor unhooked. When you touch the capacitor contacts the needle should go all the way to the right and then fall back to near zero. When you reverse the meter leads the needle should do the same thing. If not the capacitor is bad.

Jerry, its not hard to pull the ends off. Look closely at the windings. They should be a bright copper color, if you see blackened windings it would need to be rewound. Also check to see if the clutch that disconnects the start winding is free and the little contacts on it are OK.

Take the belt off and wrap a string around the pulley. turn it on and pull the string, if it starts, the starting winding is burned up. So the motor is probably junk. Also watch and see if there is arcing on that bad post when you turn it on.

My wife bought a P520 about a year ago. It's OK, but IQ simply isn't that great. Not very good in low light, colors seem drab, sometimes sharp, sometimes not. Suggest you purchase from somewhere that has a generous return policy. I bought a Sony HX300 and really like it. tho IQ still not as good, but close to my DSLR.

I have the a100 and a350. I was told at the camera store that only a 4GB would work in the a100, but the 8GB does work in it. I use only 8GB in the 350. I shoot mostly jpeg and a bigger card is not really necessary. For downloading a few pics when the card is getting full, it seems to take too long. A larger card would just make it worse.

Images seem hazy, colors are not accurate, not sharp. Low light is really bad. We just got back from Germany and she won't even show her pics. My Sony HX300 and a350 did great. She shoots mostly on auto, but we have tried different settings without any improvement.

I shoot Sony and bought an a100 for a second camera for $100. I use mostly a 28-135 lens. I get very good pics, better than my son's 7D and as good as my other son's 5DM2. Watch Ebay and craigslist. Goodluck
