I agree with you 100% Stan Getz was unique in tonal quality and technique. Thanks for posting.

Living close to Huntington Reservation in Bay Village Ohio, my wife and I would walk at the beach quite often. Earlier this week, I was astonished to see a very special tree next the shore of Lake Erie completly gone. This tree was the center point for many marriage proposals and so many photo oportunities. It was taken down by park employees on December 29th 2020. Due to the trees condition, the park arborist had made the decision that the tree was a safety issue and must come down. I and so many others will truly miss this particular tree. It has been at this sight for as long as I can remember. Please review the pictures of before and after.

Great pics of an old workhorse. Many of these have been restored but this one has been put in the pasture to cherish the past.

Thanks,

Kate Smith was the best. America was at a different time and so patriotic.

Me Torme was contracted to Telarc recording for many of his later years and my friend was the usual recording engineer. He has fond memories of Mel as the perfect gentleman and professional artist. No ego and perfect pitch with that mellow full octave voice. He said that it was very difficult working with Judy Garland - so bad that he wrote a book concerning being the musical director. It was not at all complimentary to Judy. I forgot the name of the book but, if interested, search under author. Don't get me wrong - Judy was a wonderful performing artist with many problems. Thanks for this great memory posting.

What a wonderful way to start a day. Rachmaninov has a way of transporting me to a pure melodic world. I hear familiar melodies from film to Eric Carmen's huge hit which is now one of Celine's signature concert pieces. I praise all the musicians in this concert performance and especially Yuja Wang.
Many Thanks,
