Unfortunately, having been registered, this makes it a used camera in the eyes of Nikon. I have insurance on all my photo gear also. I have a D800, D750, D7000 with a pot load of lenses including the Holy Trinity. I can almost taste the 810 & sell my 800. When reality sets in, I just can't bring myself to the table. I've just bought a Drobo network attached storage unit for my computer data. With the 4 hard drives to put in it, my piggy bank is empty.
Johanna, is correct. Nikon will not transfer a warranty so it is in many cases cheaper to buy a refurb from B&H or Adorama. Currently I have seen those for around $2,199 with a 90 day Nikon warranty as I am looking.
