I too, have the 16-85 and consider just about the best dx lens for most purposes.

If you have the 85mm l.8 you already have one of the better portrait lenses out there You would probably be better served spending money on lighting accessories to enhance your portrait taking.

I regret there is no decent camera store within 200 miles of me where I could go and try one out because it seems to be the cameraI would most like to have.

Nikon D3300 kit might be just the ticket for you. Lots of big retailers have these kits at pretty good prices.

around here all you have to worry about is someone taking your dog as bait for the fighting dogs ..a guy i work with lost his dog and he found it a week later with its feet nailed to a board and all chewed up .it was a big dog too .i guess they nail the feet so it cant defend it self

I am a hobbyist with some nice gear. I presently own a D700 and a D800e, but now I have been starting to think if I want to upgrade again to either the D4s (of course my husband may kill me) or the D810. I love both of the cameras I own now but have been reading about the low light capability with the big guns. Want to know if anyone out there can share some thoughts? Thx

If he kills you, can I have yourD800e. If he doesn't, get the D4

I moved from a D90 to the D7000 a a quite pleased with the upgrade. The D7100 gets rave reviews but the 7000 can be had refurbished for quite a bit less.

I have a D7000 and I love it. In this area a refurbished D7000 is a real bargain. Others argue that the D7100 is somewhat sharper but I do not feel it it is enough so to warrant the higher cost.

I've had my D7000 for near on 2 years and amo more than pleased with this camera. Moved up from the D 90, which is also a good camera. It would take a lot to tempt me to upgrade and will probably stay with this camera until it finally fails of old age, or until I do.

Way to go Tom. The Blue Ridge Parkway is my favorite ride, we go at least twice a year.
