Thank you , just to make everyone happy Admin has moved the topic to general chit chat and the reason it was posted here first of all was many do not read the general chit chat ( although in my opinion it was suitable for where it was as it was related to photography), but then again I am a moron so my opinion does not mean shit ,but its ok for a new member to make his comments but I am not supposed to reply, as for a expert ,no I am not.
I was merely pointing out the fact these were his first posts.
Perhaps I should have added a ? mark to the topic so everyone might possibly understand .
Thank you , just to make everyone happy Admin ha... (show quote)

Looks like the Admin knows what they're doing.

As I previously said, "I don't go into the "General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk)" section. More clowns than Ringling Brothers in there........"

Welcome home, to your natural environment..........

Mogul, I was not offended by his response. Just mildly amused....

To get intelligent and experienced viewpoints, I guess you have to accept that there will sometimes be those who crave attention.

Pardon me for lowering myself to your standards and I am sorry for taking a cheap shot at JR1 in my anger .
I see that you have what 2 posts and have been a member for almost a month now so that qualfies you to call me a Moron.

Au Contraire........
I merely ASKED if you were a moron.
YOU provided the answer.

BTW, "Images to Graphic to post" should have been "Images too Graphic to post."

Well it didn't seem to fit in general chit chat, as its more of a question as to whats to graphic of photo's to post, where do we stop at ? Is it ok to post a image of a animal that's been ripped to shreds by other creatures.
Why is it someone always wants to be the self appointed posting police ,I thought that was for the admin to tell you that your post was moved to a diff spot , a thousand pardon's for making a mistake and posting in the wrong place to offend anyone.

Are you a moron?

Or do you just play one on Ugly Hedgehog - Photography Forum. Inquiring minds want to know.

I would LOVE some manufacturer to come out with a full frame digital that had NO features...just an aperture dial, a shutter speed dial, and an ISO dial.

Oh yeah...and a viewfinder to look through. :)

No P mode, no A mode, no Sports mode, no flower mode....

Just a digital film camera. :)

Oh yeah....they DO make one...it's called a Leica...and I can't afford it. :(

I love that sentiment. I had an F4 w/ AF lenses. It was stolen..... :(
So I went back to my F and F3 bodies and MF lenses and I'm a happy camper. To me, Glass is everything and I'll do the focusing.
Yes, I would LOVE a simple digital back for these bodies that does NOTHING but show me what I have captured.

Different strokes for different folks......
And so on and so on scooby dooby dooby........

Geez, am I missing something?

My F3/T doesn't have all those fancy settings. What am I to do?

It sure would be nice if the camera would do all the work.......

I avidly watch the Gallery to see what others are doing, and if I see a landscape or portrait that really sings out to me I try to incorporate the spirit of that photo into mine. This all gets a little tedious so when I saw in a magazine somewhere a photo taken with a Fisheye, my thought was if I can use this as an interlude I might be able to change course a little and get some variety into my pictures.
Previous posts in this thread have persuaded me to look further, buy an El Cheapo, experiment and go from there.

Incorporation; an admirable strategy for expanding your capabilities!

Trying to imagine what I can do with a lens is a futile effort for me. The infinite possibilities only serve to muddy the waters. But... looking through the lens and composing in the viewfinder / display is where I can begin to see the possibilities a particular lens may provide. The more you use a lens, the more you will utilize YOUR infinite potential. Any lens is just a tool; YOU are the artist.

So, I suggested renting a lens before you buy it. If you can borrow it, that's even better.

If you have a bucket load of spare cash, this topic probably won't apply to you.

I do not own one, but I do collect and use old lenses and a moderately priced fisheye has come on to the market, but I just cannot see the point of it. I could spend an hour or two taking circular distorted photos then boredom would set in. At about £400 for the lens, 4 hours of use = £100 per hour, then put the lens away.

Is there a real - practical - use for such a lens or are they just to produce fun effects?

Since you don't have on, you have no use for one.

That said, I have Nikon's 15mm f/3.5 and 16mm f/3.5. Both are superb lenses; the 15mm is a Rectilinear and the 16mm is not. What that means is the 15mm does not distort straight lines and the 16mm does; unless the straight lines run through the center of the picture. The 15mm is one of my four favorite lenses, along with the 35mm f/1.4. 85mm f/1.4 and 300mm f/2.8, due to their unique qualities. The 16mm is nice to have, but not a necessity, IMHO. I am glad to have it, as it is very sharp and covers half the visible world. lol :)

I'd recommend you borrow or rent such lenses, before you buy one, as you might only complain about your shortcomings in utilizing such glass.

I just read an article on 7 tips to make you a cooler photographer, and the very first one says to avoid wearing your camera strap around your neck unless you have a desire to look incredibly uncool. <snip>

Do YOU carry your camera using the strap around your neck?

What other words of wisdom does the a-hole who wrote that have?
