So far as the pitying comment as to what would happen in 1945 to the women of the Bund Deutsche Mädel (women's branch of the Hitler Youth), try to remember the horror of what the Germans did when they invaded the Soviet Union. The hatred and revenge of the Russian victors is fully understandable.

Between 50 and 80 million people were KILLED during WWII, a staggering and unimaginable number. The Russians lost 20 million. 6 million Jews were lost and the list goes on. The Nazis and their ilk committed utterly despicable crimes. Do we stoop to their level?

The person who said you were going to get a lot of differing advice was right. PCs of most brands are more similar than different. I use Dell because of habit mostly. I always buy the maximum on-site insurance because computers are not very reliable. Besides getting enough RAM, a fast CPU and plenty of storage, go for the biggest monitor you can afford. BTW, with the right warranty, Dell will give you all the support you could ask for. Computers have never been cheaper. And there is no need to get any of the periferrals from the computer manufacturer.

Greenland is not North America. Accepted or not.

Greenland (about 80% ice covered) is the world's largest (non-continent) island, and it dominates the North Atlantic Ocean between North America and Europe It is geographically considered part of the North American continent.

Wow! I am impressed. I thought there would be a lot of negative comments regarding cremation. I agree personally but when you are dead you don't have much influence if your family decides to disregard your wishes and bury you.

You have gotten a good run from your computer. It doesn't pay to invest in repairing or replacing the battery. Sign up for Logic Buy deals and buy a new laptop with much more capability than your 5 year old and for under 1K. And consider buying on site tech support

If other countries are not held to the same standards (they currently are not) then our economy will suffer and others will not. What good would coal restrictions have if it only applies to select countries ?. As for "Green" technologies, they are not in any position to be able to supply all of our energy needs currently. Yes, they need to be developed, but that said, we need to eliminate the consequences of them k*****g birds & other wildlife. Also, the refusal of people who don't want the windmills off the coast of their seaside residences ( think of Kennedy blocking them) can't be tolerated. Note also that there are lots of areas of the country where the Sun doesn't shine enough or the wind doesn't blow enough for those technologies to be effective enough to generate the required power needed. As for Carbon credits, that's simply a ploy to enrich those like Gore ,who are invested in the companies who would oversee the process... We have built too many cities too close to the shores of oceans & rivers & we need to move them back onto higher ground. At one time, we needed to be close to those sources of water. That is no longer the case...
If other countries are not held to the same standa... (show quote)

When you speak about moving our cities inland, don't you realize the enormous cost just in economic terms? I merely asked some questions, I certainly didn't propose wind farms or solar fields where they would be inappropriate or inefficient. There is also thermal energy and hydro energy and who know's what energy.

Sure, instead of trying to reverse the effects with policies that will adversely affect our economic well being, we need to be doing things that ensure that we adapt to the changes to minimize any ill effects.

First, what specifically, will have those adverse effects and

Second, doing what things?

Would the end to coal burning result in an adverse effect or promote the move to more environmentally friendly fuels like natural gas? Would the promotion of solar and wind energy have adverse or positive effects? Would the promotion of the development of energy storage have adverse or positive effects? And so on and so on.
