I went last year, but the excitement was a bit too much for me. I'm going to the grass growing finals in Orlando, instead.

What kind of grass? Green or the smokin kind. Lol

no salt water in Ohio. must be holding that in the river . I don't live to far for Ohio (Indiana). Wish I could show up to photograph with you.

That would of been great to meet up with a fellow hogger. You could have taught me a thing or two. The media coordinator said the Windsor side is the best for pictures do that's where I'm going

Natalie...this sounds cool. I'm originally from Pontiac (in its glory days). I remember when they used to have speed boat races on the Detroit River with the big boats. This sounds cool...wish I could be there.

I Hope to get some decent pictures to share. I talked to the media coordinater of the race and he gave me a couple good locations for photographing.

taking the lens cap off will be a good start.

It sounds funny, but I've looked through the eyepiece a number of times only to found I've replaced the lens cap.

Hello Natalie I go on the Tug Boat races here in NYC. Have never had a problem with salt spray have gone 4 years in a row, would not hurt to carry a rain sleeve though, I always have one in my bag in case I need it. The lenses you have will do fine.

Thanks for sharing your photos, now i really can't wait for Saturday. Hopefully it won't be raining. When are the races in New York?

Natalie, I guess nobody else is going.
We don't have tug races here, but we do have the America's Cup starting in a couple of weeks. Probably not as exciting as a Tug race tough. These don't have motors so they only go about 35 MPH.
The Finals are in September. Come on down if you want to go!

I don't hear alot about the America's Cup here but it is a sight to see. What I have seen of the races are beautiful. Please share your photos. Not sure how fast the tugs go but they do have alot of power. I tempting invite but I need to pass, thanks.

Oh yes I'm serious. No salt spray as it takes place in fresh water. So salt spray won't be an issue. But rain sleeves will be a good idea as rain is possible.

Hi, I'm going to the tug boat races that start in Detroit and end in Windsor. Saturday the weather should be partly sunny but with a chance of isolated T-storms. Not sure where I'll be standing, I'm trying to get on a tug boat, but we'll see (fingers crossed). I have a Nikon D5100 with two kit lens, AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1.3.5-5.6G and a 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6GED. I have so much to learn. I've had a thing for tug boats since I was a little girl and would watch them on the river from our boat, I'm very excited to be going. Is anyone else going from this site? Thank you for your help. :)

These balls outside of target always makes me think of the red ball on the back of the sneakers. Red Ball Jets. Anyone remember those?
