I am considering using a spare monitor I have for use in a 2 monitor set up for Photoshop. I like the idea of having the photograph I am editing (as near as possible) filling the largest screen, and the tools and menu panels on the smaller monitor. Does anyone have a similar set up and if so any information on the pros and cons of using 2 monitors for this purpose and advice on setting up and running the system would be greatly appreciated.
Apologies if it takes me a little time to reply to comments you might make as there seems to be a slight problem with me getting the latest UH digest. I will do my best to get back to you when and if necessary ASAP.

In the past I have always dry mounted my photographs but recently, for an exhibition, very successfully, mounted 40 A4 prints with Double Sided Clear Film Adhesive, purchased via Amazon UK.

I wonder if something similar is available in your part of the world as it certainly worked well, and in my opinion far easier than spray mount.

Have tried everything. Any suggestion?

If you could scan the original there are on certain scanners (Epson D600 for example) there is a descreening button which i think would certainly help reduce the problem.

I realise that I might not have been very clear by just mentioning Permajet and Fotospeed but they do something called CIS (continuous ink systems) or sometimes known as CISS (continuous ink supply system). The cartridges are larger and a much cheaper way of purchasing the ink. I have seen them used in a professional studio. Have a look at these links.

https://www.permajet.com/Products/PermaJet-Eco-Flo-CIS-Systems
Although I have not used CIS myself, I have used other Fotospeed products and have found them to be a reliable. I also believe Permajet to be a good company.

Does anyone know of a good quality photo printer that used "bulk" or large tank ink containers. I now only use OEM inks, having ruined several printers in the past with compatible cartridges.

I now use a Canon MX 922 for everyday photo prints and a Canon Pro 100 for "exhibition" grade prints. Both of these printers have good specs for photo work but they do drink a lot of ink

Permajet and Fotospeed do inkflow systems (that give larger capacity) and connect to certain printers. I have never used them but have heard they are reliable and of good quality.

Is it a tradition to put some kind of gold tinsel on dogs' necks around Christmas? I've seen this on several TV shows lately.

Not that I know. Our Border Collie would strongly object to any thing like that around its neck.

Sorry Silverrails to change the subject somewhat but I was interested in where it was. Thought probably somewhere in the UK?

I'm reposting this here because I only got 8 views in the printer section.

my printer stops printing in the middle of a photo print. It's very frustrating, time consuming and it wasting a lot of ink and paper. Additional info

Epson workforce 845
Epson inks and paper
paper type set correctly in printer properties and ink not low
stops in random places
has happened using Cox, Comcast, and Verizon internet providers
printing wirelessly; don't have cable for wired printing and work space cant accommodate it
Have talked to Epson. All they do is have me uninstall/reinstall drivers, which are current
Happens from various software, LR CC and On1
happens on 8 x 10 as well as 5 x 7

does not happen when printing word documents even if they have images
has happened on both my laptop and my desktop

sometimes I have just let the printer sit and it will eventually complete printing. recently it has been ejecting the unfinished print

sometimes get "connection error" in print queue status. This current time it just shows error printing. I have to delete the image from the print queue. I don't submit other prints until the current one is finished.

it happens randomly. this morning and last night I successfully printed an entire 8 x 10, the next two stopped

I have extensively googled and researched and not found any answers.

I have to get these images printed and prefer to do them at home. That's why I have a printer.

images attached

Deeply appreciative of any suggestions. I don't know if it is a buffer or spooler problem as I am not that knowledgeable about those though I have read about temp file being filled. I checked mine last night, it was empty after printing.

Thanks,
Kathy

Six months ago I had exactly the same problem, with exactly the same resulting prints. (the only difference being I have the epson Photo 3000 and it was connected to the computer by a USB cable) Epson was convinced it was a software problem but were unable to come up with a solution. I contacted a friend who is a professional printer and after describing the problem (in the identical way to which you describe yours), he was convinced Epson was wrong and suggested I check the connection between the computer and printer and if this didn't work replace the cable which I eventually did and have had no problem since. I am convinced (if my experience is any thing to go by) that your problem is something to do with the connection (although yours is wireless) I'm sure a new USB cable is the answer. There must also be a way to correct the wireless connection problem but I'm not sure how you would go about that.

If you return come to the West Country, Devon especially. Be prepared to back up (can be up to half a mile or more) if you venture on our narrow lanes though.

I get the speed cameras in the towns but On the motorways you see signs for traffic cameras but don’t see any camera boxes. Are there speed cameras on the motorways as well or not.

And I am asking out of interest not because I am speeding anywhere! Frankly, on many of the roads I don’t get close to the limit while trying to miss the other vehicles going the opposite way.

Backing up a couple of hundred yards to a layby so the farm tractor with his wagon could fit by in Wales was a bit of an eye opener.

Definitely dusting off the cobwebs from my driving skills

I recently purchased a Nikon D90 for my granddaughter who is showing an interest in photography.
After taking the first picture the mirror remains in the up position. Has anyone who uses this or has used this camera experienced this problem? And would anyone have a remedy I could use to try and fix this?

Try this- Remove the lens, and press the shutter button without mounted lens.

Don't know the camera but has it got a mirror lock up button on it? Perhaps its been inadvertently switched on.
