A longer exposure might have brought a little of the sky out just to show some of the branches...

Both good lenses.. they really are the same (f-stops) .. so why not keep it for the extra 300mm? If you can ever get the f2.8 though.. that is definitely the better lens... then I would give up those f-stops any day! I would just keep them both as a spare for the other...

As with any hobby, manufacturers takes all the fun out of it and turn it into a business. Years ago I was into radio control airplanes. It started with planes attached to a control line and has now advanced to the point where you can start your engine.. walk away and sit down at a laptop, and fly your airplane anywhere (because you can now fly through the cockpit with your on-board camera!) All costing thousands of dollars. Rodio control cars went from under a hundred to now up to $1000's! Model railroad became the same.. The G scale trains came along and eventually it cost over $100 for each car! The magazines are just there for the advertisers and take all the fun out of it! Even kites have gone nuts.. there are kites now that cost around $1000. These are kites! Radio control cars and trucks have progressed to the point where you need to spend at least $1000 to compete. I love gadgets but in the long run I think they and the crap put in magazines hurts the hobby.

I completely understood the original question.. I aimed my question about the polarizer filters at Steve40 because of the link he posted which was confusing... I was just asking a question of him though the thread...

This is what you want its 2 stops, that is the most popular. I have one and it works well, you do know they rotate like a polarizer. This is so you can place the effect, more or less where you need it. The price varies with size needed.

I looked at this and it appears to me its working as a polarizer? Does it work as a polarizer? I thought it just cut out light.. this picture appaers to show it darkening the sky and bringing out the blue and the clouds..
