This is a little deceptive, at first glance it looks similar to a photo' taken from a satellite. But it's the Earth from five feet away, not 200 miles up. It is of the hot minerals in the Yellowstone Lake area.

Hi, Lez68, I appreciate your compliment. I agree, when b&w
works it really does stand out more than colour. Regards, David.

What a fun shot! story well told, simple, balanced. thanks for sharing. glad you were there to see it.

Me too, carlysue. It was a spur of the moment decision one afternoon to go out on a damp and foggy day, leave a nice warm house and take my camera down to the local park.
As they say, no pain, no gain! Thanks for your comment, - David.

Not just excellent, but very clever! Shots like that is why there is B&W!

Wonderful picture; all the ingredients. Simple, tells a story, well composed, well lit, great use on nature and humans - love the way the people are so small compared to the tallness of the trees yet still clearly definable. Works great in a square format too. Exhibition quality.

I'm surprised and overwhelmed by the compliments people are sending me! You and everyone are very kind. Thank you,
we all need encouragement. - David.
