Maybe if you slipped a lens pouch onto the feet before you placed it in the mesh.

That would work.

I have a bunch of insulated water bottle holders/with belt loops. They work for everything from lenses general tote space for batteries, memory cards, candy bars (don't tell!), and yes water bottles. They come pretty small, so try one inside the mesh, they'll certainly contain the pod legs.

Good idea!

That's what I would do but just a piece of canvas, a piece from some blue jeans, just simple

That would work considering I have a couple pairs I can't fit into now...lol

Or try a pill bottle, a single serve yogurt plastic cup, or similar. You need something that's rigid enough to support the tripod foot and that won't work a hole into the mesh bottom.

Thanks for that idea.

Manfrotto used to make a tripod carry pocket that could be attached to some of their backpacks. I don’t know the model but I have two of them, because they store flat. But other brand tripod mount accessories will work as long as you fit whatever part of the tripod you want in the pocket into it.

You could also use a neoprene bag (I use them to cover the tripod head so it won’t bang into someone’s head…including mine).

Thanks for the suggestion.

Cut the top off an appropriate sized water bottle and slide it into the mesh pocket.

nascar27!

Try using a soft medium-sized cloth lens case to enclose the tripod legs. Very often the bottom is reinforced.

Be well! Ed

Thanks for that suggestion.

Make a little boot out of cloth material and put elastic in the top of the boot to hold it snug against the tripod legs?

Sounds doable...thanks.

I haven't tried this, but I saw a guy carrying his that way and he had a small piece of leather in the bottom of the pocket that sort of made a heavier bottom to support the tripod. I think if I were to try this, I'd try to sew it in so that it wouldn't move around.

Thanks for your info.

My backpack does not have a dedicated tripod holder. I've since downsized considerably to a new travel tripod. The only way to carry it is to place the foot end down into one of the side mesh pockets on the side and secure with the included strap lock on the top part. Is there anything I could put into the mesh pocket to prevent the tripod feet from snagging and tearing the mesh itself. I've done a lot of research but have not seen any products or suggestions on what might work. I appreciate in advance any suggestions the UHH community might have.
